It's always difficult to determine who might be included in the FIFA 22 TOTW when the major European leagues are on a break.
Fortunately, there was plenty of EFL action still taking place and we still have three players who put in fantastic performances and are deserving of a spot in this weeks TOTW.
Cameron Brannagan
Oxford United absolutely demolished a hopeless Gillingham team 7-2 on Saturday and Brannagan showed the ultimate composure to bag FOUR penalties.
Brannagan doubled his goals tally for the season in this match alone and was part of a complete Oxford performance that just piled on the misery for Gillingham. Oxford will fancy themselves to make a push and cement a playoff spot before the end of the season and more performances like this will go a long way towards just that.
Lyndon Dykes
Lyndon Dykes enjoyed a busy off-season having travelled to the Euro 2020 tournament with Scotland and finding decent early season form with QPR.
His two goals yesterday against a leaky Reading defence were his first since October which will surely be a massive relief for him and fans of the club. While not being the quickest striker in the league, his size and strength make him a centre-backs nightmare. He's well-deserving of a spot in the TOTW.
Nathan Baxter
Hull City looked like a club reborn yesterday as their first match since being taken over resulted in a 2-0 win over a dangerous Swansea team. Since coming into the team in early November, Baxter's performances have helped Hull to wins over Bournemouth and Blackburn as well as 7 wins in their last 12.
Swansea managed 15 shots in the game and 5 direct on Baxter's goal but the young shot-stopper was equal to all of them, maintaining his sixth clean sheet this season! Hull might be regretting not putting more faith in the on-loan Chelsea keeper earlier in the season. His performance was more than TOTW worthy in our eyes.
