The squad updates are coming thick and fast in FIFA 22 right now, and one team that seems to get hammered each time is Manchester United.
Everyone knows they are enduring a difficult season, but the form of Jadon Sancho offers some glimmer of hope for fans.
However, for some of the more senior members of the squad, EA and the Ratings Collective have been unimpressed, and it shows in the latest update.
New update, same result
The latest FIFA 22 squad update went live on Thursday, 31 March, meaning that the changes are no April Fools' jokes!
Manchester United players are no strangers to being included in these updates, and eight of their stars have been included this time around.
Fortunately, none of their OVR ratings have dropped any lower than they are already, but seven of the eight players have seen individual attributes drop.
With FIFA 23 on the horizon, can these players maintain their current ratings until the end of the season?
Portuguese plateau
Arguably United's highest-profile stars, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, are not immune to the harsh treatment by EA.
In fairness, EA's cuts to CR7 this time are pretty accurate. They have taken away his Crosser trait while axing his Crossing -3, Acceleration -2, and Sprint Speed -1.
Fernandes' changes are a bit more confusing as he has seen drops to his Composure -2, Long Passing -1, and Short Passing -1.
Fortunately for the Portuguese duo, these minor changes have not affected their overall ratings... for now.
Stuck in the mud
Poor Harry Maguire can't catch a break at the minute, although his "faultless" display for England according to Gareth Southgate should give him some confidence.
Nevertheless, EA has piled on the misery for the United skipper, dropping his Composure -3, and Marking -2.
After a brilliant (delayed) EURO 2020 last summer, Maguire began FIFA 22 with an 84 OVR.
That has now dropped to 82 and could fall even further if he can't rectify his club form.
Other Man Utd Updates:
- Paul Pogba (Dribbling +1, Sprint Speed -2, Positioning -1)
- Edinson Cavani (Ball Control -1)
- Dean Henderson (Potential -1)
- Tom Heaton (Acceleration -2, Sprint Speed -2, Reactions -2, Stamina -2, GK Diving -1, GK Positioning -1, GK Reflexes -1)
Shining light
It is not all doom and gloom at Old Trafford though, with one of their youth academy products earning an upgrade this month!
Now a full Sweden international, Anthony Elanga has seen another boost to his OVR to take him to 71.
He has been granted a host of upgrades, including boosts to his Shooting, Passing, and Dribbling attributes.
Anthony Elanga Upgrades:
- Finishing 68 - 69
- Short Passing 65 - 67
- Ball Control 70 - 72
- Reactions 67 - 69
- Stamina 67 - 68
- Positioning 70 - 72
- Vision 61 - 63
- Composure 64 - 68
