We are all eager to see what new features and licenses EA brings to FIFA 22, and it now looks like we have our first clue as to what we can expect!
As the release date creeps closer, more news is surfacing about the game, with the Beta test offering our first sneak preview of the game.
There have been lots of leaks online too, resulting in the beta test being swiftly withdrawn, but we are still building a more accurate picture of what we may see later in the year.
Release Date
Unsurprisingly there has been no word on when FIFA 22 will officially be released, but we can have a pretty accurate guess.
FIFA 22 will likely be released between Friday, 24 September and Friday, 8 October 2021, judging by the release in previous years, although a September release looks most likely!
Licenses
FIFA’s biggest rival has been PES for a long time, and Konami has taken exclusive rights to Juventus and Roma in recent times.
While EA still holds the rights to the player names but losing Juventus, in particular, has been a significant blow to the franchise.
EA did not take it lightly though and signed both Milan clubs to long-term exclusive deals.
It could be panic stations at EA though ahead of FIFA 22, with a fourth Serie A club licence being lost to rivals Konami and PES in the space of three seasons.
Atalanta, who have ripped up the script in both Italy and Europe in recent seasons, will become an exclusive partner with Pro Evo from the 2021/22 season.
We would imagine Atalanta will be named after its location in FIFA 22 - either the city of Bergamo or the region of Lombardy.
Three new leagues
The code for FIFA is well monitored with the addition of FUT Heroes Club already spotted, exciting Ultimate Team fans with the prospect of new Icons.
This is not the only new addition spotted though, with three new leagues also found meaning they could be included in FIFA 22.
The new leagues include the National League (England Division 5), Liga Cyprus (Cyprus), and Magyar Liga (Hungary).
Fans are thrilled at the thought of the addition of the National League with the chance to play as some of their local clubs!
