FIFA 22 is here with early access pretty much underway!
But, will we see any new leagues arrive in FIFA 22 later this year?
Check out everything we know so far about the leagues in EA's upcoming title below.
Trailer
Watch the official FIFA 22 trailer here.
The reveal trailer has got fans hyped for the upcoming release, featuring cover star Kylian Mbappe, along with top talents Trent Alexander-Arnold and Christian Pulisic.
Release Date
The release date for EA's upcoming title has been confirmed.
After months of speculation, EA has officially announced that FIFA 22 will be released on Friday, 1 October 2021.
Leagues
We want the Brazilian league back. Any new league is always exciting, but the Brazilian league is a real miss, especially when it remains in the game with generic players.
We didn’t see any new leagues added in FIFA 21, and it looks like that will be the case once more unless more are added in a later update.
The Rest of the World category plays host to some great clubs, so their respective domestic leagues would be good additions.
The Russian League and Italian Serie B have been removed in recent editions too, so the sooner they come back the better.
Licenses
EA has the license for both the Champions League and the Europa League, and they will also have the Europa Conference League too.
The new European competition is set to begin in 2021, and EA has already confirmed it will feature in the new game.
We would love to see some more continental competitions in the game too, particularly the AFC Champions League with all the top Asian clubs in the game.
The South American competition is a great addition in recent seasons, but it appears to have come at the cost of the full leagues themselves.
Wave goodbye
It could be panic stations at EA ahead of FIFA 22, with a fourth Serie A club licence being lost to rivals Konami and PES in the space of three seasons.
Atalanta, who have ripped up the script in both Italy and Europe in recent seasons, will become an exclusive partner with Pro Evo from the 2021/22 season.
Similar to Juventus (Piemonte Calcio), Atalanta's new name on FIFA 22 will be Bergamo Calcio.
This is another significant blow as football fans are often fickle around licensing issues.
Community vote
As ever, the FIFA community has been voicing their opinions on which leagues should be brought into the game.
FIFPlay currently has a live vote for which league fans want most, and you can have your say here.
So far, it is the Greek league that leads the way. It would be great to see Olympiacos finally removed from the Rest of World category.
A surprising second place comes for the Honduran league. We love a random league, so this ticks our box.
