Inter Milan managed to stop rivals Juventus from claiming a 10th successive Serie A title.
The Nerazzurri lost just 3 games and picked up 91 points!
Will their players be rewarded with a ratings increase in FIFA 22?
Samir Handanovic (OVR 86)
Captain, leader, and now title winner; Samir Handanovic.
The 6’4" goalkeeper has featured over 300 times for Inter since signing in 2012 but was yet to win an honour with the club. That changed last season when the Slovenian kept 15 clean sheets as Inter kept the best defensive record as they won the Serie A.
At the age of 36, it’s fair to say Handanovic won’t be as sharp in the future, which EA looks to think too, giving a 86 OVR.
Milan Skriniar (OVR 86)
Milan Skriniar was a dominant force for Inter last season.
The Slovakian centre back bullied strikers and helped the Nerazzurri claim their first title in 12 years. Only 35 goals were conceded in a stellar campaign, seeing Skriniar’s side hold the best defensive record of anyone in the league.
Lautaro Martinez (OVR 85)
The partnership between Lautaro Martinez and Lukaku was a joy to watch.
The physicality and speed from the Argentine led him to his best goal total for the season and although he was less prolific towards the backend of the season, like Lukaku, he shone on the international stage this summer.
The striker has helped Argentina to win the Copa America, scoring in the semi-final against Colombia.
Stefan de Vrij (OVR 85)
A mainstay in defence, De Vrij kept hold of his previous rating.
An all-round solid defender, he can keep most strikers in his pocket.
Nicolo Barella (OVR 80 → 84)
Hardly a household name before the summer, Nicolo Barella has changed that with some stunning performances in the Euros.
The midfielder has been the engine room of Roberto Mancini’s Italy side and helped them to reach, then win, the final. His goal to break the deadlock against Belgium showed the world his prowess on the ball and composure to finish.
On top of this, the 9 assists from midfield for his club on their route to the title ensured a ratings rise in FIFA 22.
Marcelo Brozovic (OVR 84)
Brozovic maintained his 84 OVR rating, meaning he is still one of the top CDM's in the game.
Last campaign he popped up with a few goals and assists, showing he's not just about protecting his defence.
Edin Dzeko (OVR 83)
New arrival Dzeko has big boots to fill, replacing Lukaku.
He will offer similarities in physical and aerial threat to defenders, but it will take some going to emulate his predecessor.
Christian Eriksen (OVR 82)
Eriksen provided some much-needed nuance in the Inter midfield.
After events in Euro 2020, we hope to see him back on the pitch soon.
Ivan Perisic (OVR 81)
Still going strong at 32 years of age. Ivan Perisic is still one of the worlds most technical midfielders.
After coming back into the Inter Milan side after a seasons loan at Bayern Munich, Perisic took that winning mentality into Conte’s team. The midfielder scored twice during his countries Euro 2020 campaign but injury prevented Perisic from playing a part in Croatia’s defeat to Spain.
Arturo Vidal (OVR 81)
Warrior, fighter and one of the most recognised hairstyles in Europe; Arturo Vidal.
When Arturo Vidal signed for Inter Milan from Barcelona last summer, many pundits thought he was heading into the twilight of his career. However, the Chilean proved to be one of the missing pieces for Conte’s side as they lifted the trophy.
Despite that, he was met with a rating decrease this year.
