The anniversary of Ultimate Team is in March, and EA always celebrates the occasion with the FUT Birthday event!
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is set to be no different, although according to various leaks it may arrive earlier than we have seen in previous seasons.
Take a look at who we think could be released as part of this season’s FUT Birthday event with massive ratings and potential position changes.
FUT Birthday
FUT Birthday will be a returning promo, which celebrates the anniversary of FIFA Ultimate Team.
Each year the event sees fan favourite players given enormous boosts, with cards released into packs, new SBCs, and objectives.
The cards released usually have boosts to skill moves and weak foot as well as the regular attributes, so it offers plenty of new and exciting options.
The event usually runs for two weeks, so expect to see a Team 1 and Team 2 release on each Friday of the promo, as well as another Swap Token System.
Predictions
Trying to predict the FUT Birthday squad is really anyone's guess, but using some of EA's favourites and studying previous patterns, we have selected five stars we think could be involved.
Along with these stars, expect to see a French centre-back thrown into the mix too!
Virgil van Dijk
Virgil van Dijk has been less prevalent in this season's Ultimate Team, but selection for FUT Birthday could change things.
We can't see EA going overboard with position changes, but we would love to see the giant Dutch defender move further up the pitch!
Toni Kroos
A Rolls Royce midfielder, Toni Kroos makes the game look simple as he glides around the pitch, controlling games from the midfield.
Kroos' pace prevents him from ever being picked in FUT, but a new special item should see his pace increased, making him useable in the game.
Marcus Rashford
A favourite among all football fans, Marcus Rashford would surely go down well with the FUT community if selected for the FUT Birthday event.
A switch to striker and five-star weak foot could make Rashford one of the best attackers in the game!
Fernandinho
Fernandinho will surely go down as a Manchester City legend as he approaches 400 appearances for the club.
Without a special card in FUT 22 so far, Fernandinho could transition into a CB with big boosts to his pace and skill moves.
Memphis Depay
It hasn't quite clicked for Dutch forward Memphis Depay at Barcelona, although there have been signs of his quality in La Liga before injury disrupted his first season at the club.
Depay is quick, strong, and blessed with great shooting ability, making him the perfect forward in FUT. He could be insane with a five-star weak foot!
