We kick off the top 50 with some players who have faced contrasting seasons. Which of these men do you want to pack in FUT 20?
50. Gonzalo Higuain (OVR 88 - 86)
Position: ST
Age: 31
Club: Piemonte Calcio (Juventus)
Country: Argentina
Last season may have been the beginning of Gonzalo Higuain’s decline following an illustrious career. A failed loan to AC Milan preceded six months at Chelsea where was he perpetually a yard off the pace of the league.
We believe he’ll be given a generous rating of 86 as he gets one final chance at Juventus, with his favourite manager Maurizio Sarri at the helm,
49. Frenkie de Jong (OVR 82 - 86)
Position: CM, CDM
Age: 22
Club: Barcelona
Country: Netherlands
Few players can say they’ve passed both Juventus and Real Madrid off their own park. Even fewer players can say they’ve done it before their 22nd birthday. Frenkie de Jong was the central cog in Ajax’s stunning run to the Champions League semi-final and looks set for a huge future in the game.
Now he’s moved to Camp Nou, he seems the heir apparent to Sergio Busquets’ throne in the Barca midfield. A shoot up to an 86 overall is on the cards.

48. Saul Niguez (OVR 85 - 86)
Position: CM, LM, RM
Age: 24
Club: Atletico Madrid
Country: Spain
Often the unsung hero of the Atletico Madrid midfield, Saul has been an uncompromising force for Diego Simeone’s side in recent seasons.
This season he will no longer have Manchester City new boy Rodri behind him, but he’ll still be a central part of a revamped Atleti side tipped for big things.
47. Koke (OVR 85 - 86)
Position: LM, CM
Age: 27
Club: Atletico Madrid
Country: Spain
Koke places one ahead of fellow Atletico and Spain midfielder Saul, also enjoying a one-point boost.
Adept both in the centre of midfield and on the left, he adds some invaluable creativity to a brawny, robust side.
46. Leandro Bonucci (OVR 86 - 86)
Position: CB
Age: 32
Club: Piemonte Calcio (Juventus)
Country: Italy
Last season saw Bonucci end his feud with Massimiliano Allegri and return home to Juventus, resuming his excellent partnership with Giorgio Chiellini.
This season, with Chiellini set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, he’ll be tasked with forming a partnership with the hugely promising Matthijs de Ligt. His rating should stay on 86.

45. Samir Handanovic (OVR 87 - 87)
Position: GK
Age: 35
Club: Inter Milan
Country: Slovenia
For the second season in a row, Samir Handanovic rates as the best goalkeeper in Serie A. At the age of 35, he shows no sign of decline.
Now in his eighth season at Inter Milan, this season is probably his best chance to win the Scudetto, as Antonio Conte attempts to build a side worthy of breaking Juventus’ stronghold on the league.
44. Alex Sandro (OVR 86 - 87)
Position: LB, LM
Age: 28
Club: Juventus
Country: Brazil
Despite consistently excellent performances for Juventus over the years, Alex Sandro has been cursed by being part of a wonderful generation of Brazilian left-backs, usually leaving him on the international sidelines.
Now, with Marcelo and Filipe Luis both seemingly declining, he’s finally been given a chance as a Seleccao starter and we predict he could be the second-best left-back in the game.
43. Thiago Silva (OVR 88 - 87)
Position: CB
Age: 34
Club: PSG
Country: Brazil
Even at the age of 34, Thiago Silva remains such a crucial component of the Paris Saint-Germain defence. Perhaps he doesn’t get the credit he deserves - he’s been one of the finest defenders of his generation.
If he hadn’t been injured in the 2014 World Cup, you can be sure that Germany’s 7-1 demolition of Brazil wouldn’t have happened. His rating drops one to 87.

42. Lorenzo Insigne (OVR 88 - 87)
Position: CF, LW, ST
Age: 28
Club: Napoli
Country: Italy
After Kalidou Koulibaly, Insigne is comfortably Napoli’s second-best player and acts as the team’s talisman. Having spent his whole career in Naples, he’s secured legendary status amongst fans.
His blistering pace also means that he’s a beast on FIFA. Like Inter Milan, Napoli will be hoping to challenge Juventus’ Serie A crown, after securing some useful additions in Kostas Manolas and Hirving Lozano. Insigne should rate on the cusp of 87 and 88.
41. Jordi Alba (OVR 87 - 87)
Position: LB
Age: 30
Club: Barcelona
Country: Spain
After Marcelo, like many of his Madrid teammates, endured a torrid season at the Bernabeu, Jordi Alba is widely expected to be the highest rated fullback in FIFA 20.
He’s been consistently excellent for Barca for eight seasons now, but it will be interesting to see how he reacts to Barca bringing in some left-back competition in Junior Firpo.
