It's been a slow release thus far for eFootball 2022 - Konami's free-to-play sequel to the Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) franchise.
The game was incredibly basic at launch, with the game not really coming into life until the v.1.0.0 update arriving this spring.
Well, there now looks to be light at the end of the tunnel.
Konami apologises once again
This is the second time in as many months Konami has apologised regarding the state of eFootball 2022.
But there are now reasons to be hopeful, with the last "pre-season Match Campaign" - volume 3, enabling players to earn rewards for when v1.0.0 releases.
Rewards will increase based on the number of matches played and goals scored in the corresponding campaign events.
The campaign has commenced with the English League event, where you can pick an English top-flight club and try to rack up the wins.
That lasts for four days, when it will likely switch to another European league.
This could be the final campaign ahead of the v1.0.0 Update, which could arrive in 2-4 weeks time, around mid-March.
What is eFootball?
eFootball is a free-to-play football game, following on from Konami's successful Pro Evolution Soccer franchise.
The title has official licences for some massive clubs including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United.
The game experienced a difficult launch at the end of September, with the game having very limited in-game events.
The first significant update - version 1.0.0 - will arrive in the spring to flesh the game out, with PES' classic Master League to be made available in the future as a paid DLC.
The gameplay and graphic in eFootball is improving, but it still leaves a lot to be desired with players incredibly slow to turn and hoofing it long being the most effective tactic.
PES 2021 Mobile hits 500 million downloads
The Mobile version of eFootball is still called PES 2021, with that being retitled to the new moniker when the spring update drops.
To celebrate hitting 500 million downloads, you can vote for your favourite active player in PES 2021 Mobile, with the top voted player being made available as a Featured Player.
