Konami has made a BIG call regarding 20-year-old Mason Greenwood in PES 2021 and eFootball.
It looks like both Pro Evolution Soccer and the new franchise, eFootball will follow in the footsteps of FIFA 22 by removing the Manchester United forward indefinitely.
Konami removes Greenwood indefinitely
The latest update from Konami has revealed that Mason Greenwood no longer features in PES 2021 or eFootball 2022, having been removed from the Manchester United squad.
This means that Greenwood will not be available to use in ANY game modes on all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox and PC, as of now.
The Man United striker was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault on the afternoon of Sunday, 30 January, after a woman alleging incidents of violence posted pictures and videos on social media.
These images have since been deleted.
Manchester United confirmed that the 20-year-old will not be training or playing for the club until further notice.
Manchester United said in an earlier statement:
"We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media. We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind."
Greenwood made his debut back in 2019 and has since clocked up 129 appearances for the club, with United fans having had such high hopes for the youngster.
At the time of his removal from PES 2021 and eFootball 2022, Greenwood was one of the most promising youngsters in the database.
What is eFootball?
Konami announced a while ago that PES will now be known as eFootball, which is an all-new football simulation platform from the makers of PES and Winning Eleven.
It is completely free-to-play and has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine.
However, popular game modes like Master League and Become a Legend are available as purchasable add ons.
eFootball is available worldwide on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and PC Steam.
