Football legend Gareth Bale to be added to the EA Sports PGA Tour roster?!

Former Real Madrid star and Wales captain Gareth Bale may have only announced his retirement from football a couple of weeks ago, but the 33-year-old is already preparing for a return to competitive sport.

The Welsh footballing legend has hung up his boots and reached for the clubs, as Bale has announced he will take part in his first professional golf tournament in the PGA Tour in two weeks' time.

Whilst this is just a pro-am, Gareth Bale is most certainly serious about his golf and sees this tournament as his first of many.

So, with the former Tottenham Hotspur winger making the step towards professional golf, could we see him added to the EA Sports PGA Tour roster?

Wales, Golf, Madrid

Over the course of the last few years, it had become something of a running joke among football fans that Bale was more interested in golf than in his footballing career with Real Madrid.

We all remember the famous flag he revealed after an international match for Wales back in 2019 that read “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In That Order.”

FANS FUMING - Madrid fans were not happy when they saw this, to say the least

Well, now Bale has his chance to put all his efforts into the sport that he fell in love with during the latter stages of his football career.

The ex-footballer will be playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament which pairs PGA Tour professionals with notable names across sports and entertainment.

The tournament is set to take place from Thursday, 2 February through Sunday, 5 February.

Bale for EA Sports PGA Tour game?

The full EA Sports PGA Tour roster has not yet been revealed, with just three players confirmed for the game so far.

The three confirmed players for EA Sports PGA Tour are Justin Spieth, Tony Finau and Danielle Kang.

EA has not revealed whether celebrity figures or even legends of the game will be added to the roster this year.

However, we expect some golfing all-time greats and also celebrities to be made available as playable characters and with Gareth Bale entering the pro scene, there's definitely a chance he could feature on the roster.
