Cristiano Ronaldo could be REMOVED from FIFA 23

Cristiano Ronaldo is the hottest topic of discussion amongst football fans at the moment, despite the FIFA World Cup being a matter of days away.

The 37-year-old promised he would give his all to life at Old Trafford after failing to secure a move to a Champions League club in the summer, but things haven't exactly gone to plan since then.

The all-time great has recently spoken out in an interview with Piers Morgan for TalkTV that has gripped the attention of the footballing world.

With the possibility of having his Manchester United contract terminated growing, we're taking a look at what could happen to Ronaldo in FIFA 23.

Bitter Ending

United are next in action when they take on Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth round before facing Nottingham Forest at home on Boxing Day when the Premier League resumes.

The January transfer window will open shortly after and the possibility of Ronaldo leaving the club without pulling on the shirt again is on the table.

"Some people don't want me here not only this year but last year too," Ronaldo told Piers Morgan in the hope that the interview may encourage those people to try to facilitate an exit.

ONE LAST DANCE - We may never see Ronaldo's famous celebration at Old Trafford again

That would mean his final appearance for Man United would be the 3-1 league defeat at Aston Villa, with Ronaldo since missing the club's last two fixtures with illness.

He captained the team that day at Villa Park but was unable to add to his goal tally in the top flight this term, producing an underwhelming performance.

It would be a sad ending to an incredible journey for CR7.

Ronaldo OUT

There's a real possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo being released by his club, or in other words having his contract terminated by Manchester United.

If this does indeed happen, EA may be forced to remove the Portuguese legend from FIFA 23.

Of course, CR7 would remain in the FIFA 23 database as a free agent and would be available to sign in Career Mode, but the striker could be completely removed from Ultimate Team.

Being one of the best and most used players in the game mode, this could cause a serious stir amongst the FIFA community.

What's next for CR7?

Ronaldo's performance at the World Cup could be a key factor in where he's playing football in 2023.

Cristiano has netted just three goals in 16 matches this term and if his recent struggles in front of goal for United continue then it is hard to imagine clubs rushing to put together the large financial package required to sign him.

A romantic return to his first club Sporting has been complicated by their failure to progress into the Champions League knockouts and current league position outside of the qualifying spots for next year's competition.

IMAGINE - Ronaldo looks so strange in a Chelsea shirt

There were also no official offers in the summer when the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea were linked with a move.

If Ronaldo and United were to find some grounds to terminate his contract there may be more interest in a free transfer.

In the eventuality that CR7 does move clubs this January, he will of course remain in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
