The new 5-star character, Arlecchino, takes center stage in the Genshin Impact Version 4.6 update. Despite her brief appearance in the Fontaine Archon Quest, Arlecchino's sharp wit and ominous presence left a lasting impression on players. Now, not only is her much-anticipated debut banner live, but the first chapter of her Story Quest is now available too!
As the current head of the House of the Hearth (the main antagonist organization's orphanage known for raising children into their ranks), Arlecchino reveals another side of her in Ignis Purgatorius Chapter: Act 1 - When the Hearth-Flame Goes Out! Here's a step-by-step walkthrough to guide you through the first act of Arlecchino's harrowing Story Quest.
How to unlock Arlecchino’s Story Quest Act 1
Before embarking on Arlecchino’s Story Quest Act 1, you must meet the following requirements:
- Possess one Story Key
- Reached Adventure Rank 40+
- Completed Archon Quest Chapter IV Act 5: “Masquerade of the Guilty”
To obtain one Story Key, you must do 8 Daily Commissions and be at Adventure Rank 40+. Since you can only complete 4 Commissions a day, it will take at least 2 days to acquire 1 Story Key for this quest.
It is important to note that Story Keys are not awarded automatically once the required eight daily commissions are complete. Genshin Impact players must actively go and redeem them from the “Story Quest” page in the “Quests” tab.
Arlecchino’s Story Quest Act 1 guide and walkthrough
In Ignis Purgatorius Chapter: Act 1 - When the Hearth-Flame Goes Out, assist Arlecchino in investigating reports of a “phantom child” lurking within the House of the Hearth.

- Travel to Poisson

- Head over to the House of the Hearth’s temporary base with Lyney
- Help Lyney distribute supplies to House of the Hearth members scattered across Poison
- Follow Lyney and head back to the temporary accommodation
- Follow Freminet to find out what he’s hiding
- Check up on Lyney and Freminet
- Speak to Clervie and ask about her origins
Birds in a Cage walkthrough
- Meet with Arlecchino by the seaside
- Speak to Arlecchino and Childe
- Return to Poisson to check up on Lyney and Clervie
- Rest at the temporary accommodation
- Follow Clervie to the surface
- Speak to Clervie
- Speak to Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet
- Go to the seaside to find Arlecchino
- Follow Arlecchino to the Palais Mermonia in the Court of Fontaine
- Listen in on the conversation between Arlecchino and Neuvillette
- Leave the Palais Mermonia
Into the Sunlight walkthrough
- Follow Arlecchino to the nameless ruins
- Speak to Arlecchino and learn about Clervie and the House of the Hearth
- Join the duel against Arlecchino
- Speak to Arlecchino and Clervie
- Wait until two days later
