When will we see more from the new Fable game?

When Fable 4 was officially announced during the Xbox Showcase in 2020. The internet was set alight because despite the rumour mill running wild, news about a new game seemed impossible.

Such a popular franchise was returning under the guidance of a brand new studio that had recently become part of the first-party portfolio. There were feelings of joy, fear and all emotions in between.

We're keen to see more from the game, but let's look at everything we know about Fable 4 so far...

Fable 4 Release Date

There is no release date currently attached to Fable 4. The only thing we have seen from the game is a reveal trailer and this provided us with nothing. Not even a possible release year.

Along comes the Xbox Gamescom 2021 Showcase and still we have no updates on the game. In most cases, this could e cause for concern this may not be the case because of who is developing the title.

Who is making Fable 4?

Fable 4 is being developed by Playground Games, most notable for the Forza Horizon series. It may seem like a big jump to go from open-world racing to open-world PRG but they are more similar than you may think.

Playground Games have the pedigree to take on a project like Fable 4 and turn it into something special. This faith is likely why Microsoft are comfortable saying very little about the game currently.

Fable 4 Reveal Trailer

The Fable 4 reveal happened at the Xbox 2020 Showcase and closed the show out. It was rumoured in the lead up to the show that the reveal was coming. Rumours also suggested that Playground Games were behind the project.

Both of these turned out to be true and we were treated to a beautiful and slightly quirky reveal trailer. As soon as the trailer started, Twitter erupted with guesses at what it could be, most correctly guessing it was Fable 4.

While not an officially numbered title, it will be the fourth game in the franchise and possibly act as a reboot of sorts.
