Rocket League to get enhanced PS5 Graphics Mode options in next update

Rocket League Season 4 has just kicked off, but there's already another title update. Thankfully, though, this is going to be one update you'll want to download! Rocket League is getting enhanced Graphics Mode options on PS5 and there's going to be 4K support at 60 FPS or 120 FPS options! Here's everything you need to know about it.

What Graphics Mode options are on the way?

Following the next title update, Rocket League players on PS5 can choose one of the following Graphics Mode options via the Video Settings menu:

  • Quality Graphics Mode
    • 4K at 60 FPS with HDR
  • Performance Graphics Mode
    • 70% 4K at 120 FPS
      • 70% of 4K is 2688x1512 resolution
      • Game UI still runs at 4K

At the moment, it's hard to tell which one will be better but you have to imagine it will be the Performance Graphics Mode on PS5. The only thing is... You're going to need to make sure you have an HDR10 compatible display and - at least - an Ultra High-Speed HDMI 2.1 cable if you want to try hitting 120 FPS. Of course, it goes without saying that a 4K compatible display is needed for 4K visuals and you might not be able to hit 120 FPS on a standard TV set.

When is the update dropping?

Rocket League's next title update is due to arrive on August 18th. We don't know a specific time just yet, but we expect it to arrive early afternoon at the latest.
