Metal Gear Solid Collection coming to PS5 later this year

Despite year one generally being slow for any new console, there still seems to be quite a lot of news being released daily.

And this news is one that will make many PlayStation fans extremely happy.

Metal Gear Solid Collection Coming To PS5

According to a rumour that began of 4Chan, so take that as you will, Sony and Konami have reached a deal to bring the Metal Gear Solid collection to PlayStation 5 in September 2021.

The collection will feature Metal Gear Solids: Twin Snakes (the Gamecube remake of MGS1), Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

For some reason, Metal Gear Solid V has been left off the list, but that can be played via backwards compatibility on PS5 as it was released on PlayStation 4 so that could be the reason.

Spin-off titles such as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appear to be left off, but at least all four main-line games are said to be included.

Neither Sony nor Konami has confirmed this yet, but it is possible it is true.

While 4Chan can often post false rumours, it does have a history of posting accurate leaks, so we will have to wait and see.

E3 is right around the corner so this would be a great announcement by Sony.

Stock Update

After a strong start to the month, with many retailers receiving stock, it looks like we're back to the console drought again.

As it stands right now, there are no retailers that are known to getting stock this week.

@PS5Instant noted that,

"#PS5 won't be released till next week, later half of my 8-15th date. As most retailers re-open Monday & are busy setting up. Stock will still be sold online due to Sony's COVID policy"

So, this means that stock will be coming, it just might be a little later than expected.

Our best advice is, keep checking back for these daily stock updates and set up as many stock alerts as you can.

But, if you have to have a new console now and can't wait for new stock, you do have a few options, although we don't recommend them.
