It was confirmed some months back that Tiger Woods would be joining the PGA Tour 2K franchise - but it's still unclear as to what that means.
Many hoped that would be in the form of a brand new game - PGA Tour 2K22 - so here's wat we know about the potential game.
PGA Tour 2K22 Release Date
There is no concrete information to guarantee PGA Tour 2K22 will arrive this year - BUT, following the signing of Tiger Woods - it would seem strange to announce that and not follow it up with a new game.
There is a chance the GOAT could just be arriving in PGA Tour 2K21, but again it would be a waste of opportunity from 2K.
If they do release a new game, we would expect it to mirror's last year's release date.
By that logic, we would expect to see PGA Tour 2K22 on Friday, 20 August 2021.
PGA Tour 2K21 released on PS4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia, and we'd expect very much the same this year.
Of course, the game was released before PS5 and Xbox Series X|S arrives, so perhaps some Next Gen enhancements are in the pipeline this time around.
The first teaser for PGA Tour 2K21 arrives on 6 May - with the announcement trailer following on 14 May - so stay tuned to 2K's social channels around the same time this year.
The list of contenders will be very short this year.
Acquiring the signature of Tiger Woods very much points towards the 15-time major winner to fronting up this year's game.
Justin Thomas was the cover star for PGA Tour 2K21, winning The Players Championship and the WGC - FedEx St. Jude Invitational after the game's release.
2K21 dev hopeful on future of the franchise
We may not see PGA Tour 2K22, but expect the franchise to continue - whether it be more content on 2K21 or future titles in the series.
Plus, Tiger Woods is working with developers - so expect to see that collaboration come to light somewhere along the line.
PGA Tour 2K21 saw a load of pro golfers arrive, but the only irritating factor was that you could only play against the pros, as opposed to controlling them.
We hope that changes this year, with the prospect of playing as Tiger too good to turn down!
PGA Tour 2K21 Roster
- Justin Thomas
- Cameron Champ
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Matt Kuchar

The major missing factor from last year was no women from the LPGA - something 2K will likely address next time around.
Nelly Korda, Daniel Kang and Brooke Henderson would be popular additions from North America, with the best two of the best players in the world - Jin Young Ko and Sei Young Kim hailing from South Korea.
The addition of legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Seve Ballesteros would also be immensely popular with the community.

The beauty of having the PGA Tour licencing allows 2K to have a whole catalogue of courses and tournaments to play at.

This will be difficult following EA's deal with the PGA Tour and exclusive rights to all four Majors.
The Ryder Cup remains the one remaining huge tournament, and could at least sway European players to 2K.
