Pokemon Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra DLC was recently released.
And to celebrate the release, The Pokemon Company is giving all Sword and Shield players a special gift.
Pokemon Sword & Shield
Pokemon Sword & Shield, the latest entry in the Pokemon series, was released on Nintendo Switch in November 2019.
Since then it has spawned 2 DLC expansions, the Isle of Armor and the recently released Crown Tundra.
This would mark the first time a mainline Pokemon game has been on home console.
Every previous generation were on the Game Boy and DS line of consoles.
Although the Nintendo Switch is a home console/handheld hybrid so it still kind of remained on handheld.
Mystery Gifts
In Pokemon Sword & Shield players can receive Mystery Gifts via passwords and the internet.
These are periodically done to celebrate events and give free Pokemon and items.
Some of them are region specific, but many are worldwide events.
How To Use Mystery Gifts
To grab your free Pikachus in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you need to use the Mystery Gift feature.
When in the main game, press X to go into the menu.
Then head the Mystery Gift page.
Click on "Get a Mystery Gift".
Then click "Get with Code/Password"
Once you connect to the internet you will be able to put the codes in below.
There is a separate code for each Pikachu, so you can grab all 8 of them if you want.
Apart from their appearance they aren't any different to regular Pikachus, except them can't evolve into Raichu.
One thing to note is that each Pikachu will have Ash as their original trainer.
These codes are valid until November 30th.

Players have until tomorrow to claim them and then they are gone forever, so make sure you do this as soon as possible.

Crown Tundra is available as part of the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass. The previous DLC (Isle of Armor) is included in this bundle, as well as any future DLC Game Freek release for Sword and Shield.
