NHL 23 Cover Athletes REVEALED
The NHL 23 cover athletes have finally been revealed as young phenom Trevor Zegras and the first ever woman on the game's cover, Canadian Olympic icon Sarah Nurse, will front the box this year.
This historic addition to the EA NHL game franchise is certainly an exciting and unexpected moment.
This comes just months after betting lines posted the following as favorites to be this year's cover stars:
- Nathan MacKinnon +200
- Steven Stamkos +300
- Kirill Kaprizov +350
- Connor McDavid +400
- Nikita Kucherov +500
- Cale Makar +600
- Adam Fox +1200
Trevor Zegras comes to the cover as a surprise pick as a young second-year sparkplug for the rebuilding Anaheim Ducks. The NHL 23 development team clarified their choice explaining that he represents and connects with the next generation of hockey fans.

NHL 23: Is the Zegras Flip coming this year?
The EA NHL game series has a history of implementing some of the most eye-catching and exciting hockey moves as they're pioneered by the pros, and with Trevor Zegras on the cover, the Zegras Flip perfectly fits the bill. The Zegras Flip involves a playmaker behind the opposing net flipping the puck over to the front, inspired by this iconic moment from Zegras against the Buffalo Sabers late last year.

While we likely won't get any confirmation for whether the Zegras Flip makes it into NHL 23 until the game's full reveal, currently scheduled for 11am EST on Wednesday, August 25th, we'll update with all the latest news as it's revealed.
