We've compiled the latest news here ahead of its launch:
LATEST - Trophy List Revealed, Story Trailer Released Ahead of Launch
In an unusual move, Insomniac Games has revealed the trophy list for the upcoming Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart via a Twitter thread:
The list (which omits the game's secret trophies) looks very doable and should have trophy hunters excited!
You can see the full list of trophies, including the hidden ones, here.
In addition, a short trailer outlining the story of Rift Apart has been released.
If you really want to go in blind, maybe avoid it, it's quite general in nature but the footage does show off some previously unseen areas.
You can check it out for yourself below:
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches June 11, exclusively on PS5.
Going Gold
Only weeks from release, Insomniac Games announced on Twitter that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has finally gone gold.
This essentially means the game is finished. Over the next few weeks, they will be focused on marketing and polishing all the way up to its launch, and likely for some time after.
State of Play Update
If you missed it, we've just had a new State of Play presentation from PlayStation and it was all about everyone's favourite Lombax (and his robot... And the new Lombax that might be everyone's favourite now.)
That's right! We got around fifteen minutes of brand-new Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart footage and it's safe to say that Insomniac Games' upcoming PS5 title looks amazing. It might just be the best-looking PlayStation 5 game to date!
In the latest footage, we got a brand new look at a lot. So much, in fact, that we thought it would be best to list it below:
- Near-Instant loading times thanks to PS5's SSD
- New Traversal Mechanics (Phantom Dash, Wall-Running, Rift Tether)
- DualSense's Adaptive Triggers & Haptic Feedback in action
- New Weapon Teaser (NegaTon Collider)
- Accessibility Options (Inc. Game Speed toggle options)
- Photo Mode
- Open-Ended Exploration
- Clank-based Puzzles
- Glitch Combat
- Arena Challenges
- Aerial Combat
- RIVET GAMEPLAY
Yep, that's right. Rivet is going to be playable, as far as we know, in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. For a more detailed rundown of all this, you can check out the PlayStation Blog Post about it here.

Ratchet & Clank State of Play
The next State of Play presentation from PlayStation is going to focus on everyone's favourite Lombax and his next big adventure! That means we're expecting around 15 minutes of brand new footage from PlayStation and Insomniac Games later today.
The State of Play is due to kick off at 15:00 EST / 20:00 BST and you can watch it all on the Embedded Video from PlayStation's YouTube below:
We don't know a whole lot about what Rift Apart is about, but here's a pretty apt summary about it from Wikipedia (don't quote this in an essay, though!))
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will explore the story of the titular characters as they traverse across different worlds in multiple realities to stop their archenemy, Doctor Nefarious, from exploiting the catastrophic dimensional collapse caused by the malfunctioning Dimensionator to finally achieve his dream of completely exterminating organic life in all universes.
Rift Apart Release Date
The next instalment in Insomniac Games' new Ratchet and Clank reboot is due to launch on June 11th exclusively on PlayStation 5 consoles.
Sadly, it won't be coming to the PlayStation 4 and the series is notoriously a PlayStation exclusive. We might see it on PC at some point in the future though, as SIE has started porting their titles to the platform. You can check out the latest Gameplay Trailer below, though! (PS, it is really good.)
Most notably, Death Stranding, Days Gone, and Horizon: Zero Dawn have all made the jump to PC via Steam and Epic Games' Storefront. As for Ratchet and Clank? Only time will tell...
Who's That Lombax?
There's been a lot of chatter about the newest protagonist joining Ratchet and Clank in their next adventure and we finally have some answers from Insomniac Games!
The Female Lombax is actually called Rivet! (So, props to whoever guessed that when the Cinematic Reveal Trailer came out a little while ago!)
Insomniac shared some new information about her in the Tweet below, too!
As you can see, she's rocking an Ultra-Light Teratannium Hammer that packs a mean punch!
"This Resistance Fighter won't stop until she frees The Universe from tyrants like Nefarious."
Colour us excited! We can't wait to show Nefarious who's really boss!
Additional Information
If you're really into your Ratchet and Clank, then the Digital Deluxe Edition might be the one for you! Insomniac Games has revealed that it will come with five new Armour Sets, a Digital Artbook and Sound Track, a Photo Mode Sticker Pack, and more!
Here's a fresh look at some of the awesome bonus content below:
As for the actual game... We know that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is going to feature both new locations and places we've seen before. There will also be "alternate universe" versions of several locations, which sounds thrilling.
In addition to this, there's going to be "near-instantaneous travel" via a series of inter-dimensional portals. This is undoubtedly being enabled by the technological improvements of the PS5, but it makes for a fantastic addition to the title.
Oh, and finally... This GIF. It's important content.
