Phasmophobia New Ghost Types: Nightmare Update Ghosts & Evidence Requirements

Phasmophobia has finally reached the Nightmare update, a major update on the studio's calendar for some time.

This update introduces new ghosts, new maps, and tons of new effects and scares.

To keep up, here's all of the new Phasmophobia ghosts and their evidence requirements in the new Nightmare update.

Phasmophobia Nightmare Update Now Live

The Nightmare Update for Phasmophobia arrived at 11am EST on Monday, October 25th.

This update was classified as Major on the Phasmophobia Trello board where the developers track progress and next steps in a public setting.

With all of the new content, it certainly doesn't disappoint!

New Ghosts in Phasmophobia Nightmare

The Phasmophobia Nightmare update introduces four new ghost types to the game with new evidence combinations to discover for them.

The game's new ghost types include:

• Obake
• Onryo
• Raija
• The Twins

Evidence Requirements for Each Phasmophobia Ghost

These four new ghost types also require four new evidence combinations to identify them. Here are the types of evidence you'll need to confirm each new ghost type in Phasmophobia Nightmare.

What Else is New in the Phasmophobia Nightmare Update?

The Nightmare Update brings far more than just new ghosts to Phasmophobia. The update includes an entirely reskinned starting room for players looking to make a lobby, complete with blacklight-required clues and a puzzle/maze. We won't spoil the result, but be sure to follow along with where the black-lit markings lead you!

The update also comes with a brand new difficulty called Nightmare, which will crack the screens that track player sanity as well as ghost activity, leaving them unreadable.

Nightmare update will also counterfeit one of the ghost's evidence types, removing it from play and making identification that much harder.

All of this combined makes for a fantastic update for Phasmophobia, and we should see a return in popularity over the Halloween season that just may stick for the next Major update.
