Outriders is a new co-op RPG shooter from Square Enix, combing frantic and aggressive shooting with traditional RPG elements.
But can the game be played alone or do you need friends?
Is Outriders Single-Player?
Square Enix has confirmed that, despite the game being intended to be multiplayer, the entire story campaign can be played in single-player or in co-op with up to three other players.
Outriders is due to be released on April 1 2021 on PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Check out the official gameplay overview trailer below.
A demo for Outriders was released in February 2020, giving players the chance to play the Prologue of the game, as well as some more content after it.
Overall, there is about three hours worth of content and any progress that is made will be carried over to the full game, meaning you won't need to replay the Prologue again and can jump straight into where you left off once the game launches on April 1.
Players who try out the demo will receive a free 'Slick and Smooth' emote to use in-game.
If you're unfamiliar with the game, check out the official description below:
"Take your first steps into a savage future in the OUTRIDERS Demo, and get a taste for the most aggressive RPG-Shooter in the genre.
With all four classes available, and the first four brutal abilities from each, you can assassinate your enemies as the Trickster, incinerate them as the Pyromancer, punish them up close as the Devastator, or at range as the mysterious Technomancer. Play single-player, or with up to two friends, as you experience the prologue and opening hours of OUTRIDERS."
