Guardians of the Galaxy voice actors and why you might know them

Guardians of the Galaxy is finally here and that brings tens of hours of action RPG combat and banter between the main cast.

Because the Guardians are such an eclectic bunch, it's always fun to figure out where you know that voice from. If you've picked up the gave over the holiday period and are struggling to figure out who is who, here's what the cast are known for.

Star-Lord Voice actor - Jon McClaren

Star-Lord takes centre stage in Guardians of the Galaxy yet Jon McClaren, his voice, hasn't been in all that many recognisable projects. If you recognise that voice, it's likely for his role as Jesse Stanton in Heartland or as the 20-year-old Jacob Reece in Blood & Treasure.

Gamora Voice Actor - Kimberly-Sue Murray

Gamora, that enigmatic green alien is played by Kimberly-Sue Murray this time around. She played the role of Seelie Queen Amar in Shadowhunters, Danika Dubov in V-Wars and Adele in The Lizzie Borden Chronicles.

Drax Voice Actor - Jason Cavalier Leboeuf

Drax's voice actor, Jason Cavalier Leboeuf, has an incredibly impressive resume working on stunts. The swap to using his vocal talent means he's a well-rounded actor, ready to take on the rather physical Drax.

Groot Voice Actor - Adam Harrington

Groot is primarily known for one line but his voice actor, Adam Harrington has had a pretty varied career. You can see him as Douglas in Parenthood, Jack Moyer in Scrubs or as a news anchor in The Tick.

Rocket Voice Actor - Alex Weiner

Rocket, that mischievous little racoon is voice by Alex Weiner. Known for roles such as Clyde Nelson in Clydecynic, Mark in Carter or Ricky in Blue Mountain State, he's has a pretty varied acting experience.

Being one of the most experienced actors on the cast, you can see Mylène Dinh-Robic in over 70 projects including Liz in Transplant and Beatrice Hamelin in 19-2

Young Peter Quill voice actor - Hudson Leblanc

Despite being at a very young age, Hudson Leblanc lent his voice to some of the kids in Assassin's Creed: Origins and Brooklyn.

Mantis voice actor - Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez

Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez lent her voice to Teresa in Jack Ryan, Francesca in Les mauvaises herbes and Nina Gomez in Faits divers before voicing Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy

Ko-Rel voice actor - Judith Baribeau

Ko-Rel is voice by Judith Baribeau, who previously played Mr Costa's Assistant in Taking Lives and Tammy in Arctic Blast.

Adam Warlock voice actor - Brent Skagford

The great Adam Warlock is brought to life by Brent Skagford - an actor who you may have seen in Workin' Moms or heard as Napoleon Bonaparte in Assassin's Creed Unity.

Nikki Gold voice actor - Romane Denis

Romane Denis might not be a name you know, but she's an emerging talent with a solid set of acting credits behind her. You can see her in French TV Series True North, Nomades, and For Sarah.

Lady Hellbender voice actor - Sarah Levesque

Another rising talent, Sarah Levesque voices the antagonist of Guardians of the Galaxy - Lady Hellbender. You can see her in Peace by Chocolate, Death of a Ladies' Man, and The United States vs. Billie Holiday.

Cosmo voice actor - Alex Ivanovici

Guardians of the Galaxy's goodest boy is voiced by Alex Ivanovici - another good boy! He's Fingers in Cyberpunk 2077, James and John in The Dark Pictures: Little Hope, Cullen in Outriders, Doc in Siege... Oh, and he's also the Marquis de Sade in Assassin's Creed Unity!
