Dignitas Slammed After "Mobile Gaming Is Not Gaming" Comment and iFerg Responds


The esports team Dignitas have caused controversy after their comments about mobile gaming.

Dignitas are a well-respected esports team. They compete in games including, CS:GO Valorant, and League of Legends. Despite their prestige in the esports community, they have caused outrage among fans of mobile gaming.

Mobile gaming has always been contested with its rights to the gaming industry. However, in recent years, mobile gaming has become just as valid as PC and console games. But what did Dignitas say to cause such a scene and how do people feel about it?

Dignitas Twitter post

Dignitas posted to their official Twitter page making a comment that...

"Mobile Gaming Is Not Gaming"

This caused an array of responses from fans and professional mobile gamers.

Dignitas's controversial tweet became ratio'ed very quickly. With a large number of comments to likes, their fans aren't happy. To combat this, they removed the original tweet.

They later posted a tweet mocking themselves using a clown meme format.

iFerg's response

iFerg is a professional mobile gamer who co-owns the well-known mobile gaming team called Tribe. Additionally, he is well known for playing Fortnite and CS:GO mobile and found the original tweet to be of bad taste.

iFerg was hot onto the original Twitter post from Dignitas. He commented...

"I have won more tournaments in the last 5 years than your entire organization combined. The most relevant thing that has happened to you this decade has been this ratio."

Sonho is another professional gamer from TSM who is known for his plays in Apex Legends mobile. He also didn't like the tweet and commented

"I can’t remember asking + mobile gamers are real gamers + the easiest relationship of my life that I’ll remember for decades to come."

Despite the bad reactions from professional gamers, other Twitter users found the original post funny. They also supported the idea that mobile gaming isn't "real" gaming.

The video game industry has many debates. From PC over console, to is mobile gaming real gaming? Dignitas has stepped into a huge load of players that are angry.
