Will Battlefield 2042 be on Xbox Game Pass?

Early access for Battlefield 2042 begins in just a day or so, but you may want to jump in without having to fork out any additional cash. Therefore, you might be wondering if Battlefield 2042 is on Xbox Game Pass. Well, we have all the answers you need.

Being on Xbox Game Pass would mean any subscribers wouldn't have to pay the full price of DICE's game to play it.

The times on all platforms haven't been officially confirmed just yet, but it seems like Battlefield 2042 will go live at the same time as the beta, which is 3am ET/8am GMT.

That time is shown on Origin, and we imagine it'll be the same on all platforms, including Game Pass.

Will Battlefield 2042 be on Xbox Game Pass?

Unfortunately, the answer isn't as simple as a yes or no. While the full Battlefield 2042 game will not be on Xbox Game Pass at launch, subscribers will still be able to play it.

Like is the case for other EA games, such as FIFA and Madden, a 10-hour trial will be available on EA Play from November 12, one week before the game's full release. Since EA Play is included in Xbox Game Pass, that free trial is essentially also on Xbox Game Pass.

However, that 10-hour trial is all you get. The full game will not be on EA Play or Xbox Game Pass at launch, so you'll have to buy it if you want to keep playing after the trial is over.

There is a chance that Battlefield 2042 comes to Xbox Game Pass at a later date, though. Most EA games tend to come to EA Play, and therefore Game Pass, about a year after the initial launch date.

So, you can expect Battlefield 2042 to come to the service sometime in 2022. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as it does.

You can also get early access to Battlefield 2042 by purchasing the Gold or Ultimate Editions of the game.

Anyone who buys those versions will be able to play from November 12, a full week before everyone else. Thankfully, the EA Play trial goes live at that same time, so the servers should be nice and full.
