FIFA 22 TOTW 8: A look at who might feature in next weeks team

Another weekend of football is nearly finished and we begin our tradition of picking some outstanding players who are deserving of FIFA 22 TOTW honours.

It's a difficult task each week as there are so many deserving players but only a limited about of spots on the team.

Here's who we think deserves an in-form card this week...

Joao Cancelo

The Manchester City full-back played a blinder in what was one of the most dominant Machester Derbys in recent memory. City barely put a foot wrong all game and could easily have won by a larger margin than they did.

Both goals in the game were created by Cancelo who dominated the entire right side of the pitch all game long. First, he put in a dangerous cross that was turned into the net by Eric Bailly before setting up Bernardo Silva to score the second just before halftime. A masterclass in how to play the modern full/wing-back role is more than deserving of a spot in the FIFA 22 TOTW.

Christopher Nkunku

Nkunku is slowly becoming a name that just cannot be ignored in European football. His performances week in, week out for RB Leipzig as something to behold and he put in another star performance against Borussia Dortmund this weekend.

He showed incredible skill and presence on the field and earned himself one goal and an assist in the 2-1 victory, Leipzig's first over Dortmund in over four years. His highlight reel this season alone will likely attract attention from some elite clubs in January. This would be his second inclusion in the FIFA 22 TOTW should he be selected.

Neymar Jr.

Paris Saint Germain are a very strange team to watch this season as they often find themselves in close matches in a league many thought they would dominate. Their defensive frailty often has to be rescued by their attacking prowess and that same was required this weekend.

Taking home a 3-2, Neymar managed to bag 2 goals for himself in a strong overall performance. He's struggled to find the back of the net this season so this performance could signal his fortunes starting to turn the corner. It would be his first selection for the FIFA 22 TOTW if picked.
