It all started with Juventus, and each year Konami has picked up more exclusive licences for Pro Evolution Soccer - which has been transformed into the free-to-play eFootball this coming season.
As a result, Lazio has become the fourth Serie A club to be fake named in FIFA, which has been confirmed following leaks from the FIFA 22 Beta.
Enter... Latium?
Juventus were named after the club's region - Piemonte Calcio.
AS Roma only had to be changed to Roma FC.
Atalanta, which was confirmed earlier this summer, will be Bergamo Calcio in FIFA 22.
But Lazio will become Latium for EA's next release.
Latium is the historical name for the Lazio region - which was where the city of Rome was founded and grew to be the capital city of the Roman Empire.
You can see why EA has made the decision, but we can't imagine Latium is going to roll off the commentator's tongue when playing in Career Mode!
If you want to play with Lazio, you'll have to do so on eFootball, following Konami's partnership with the club.

Despite EA having an agreement with Serie A, that is not stopping the clubs drop like flies to its eFootball rival.
Napoli will become the next club to leave the FIFA franchise from the 2022/23 season.
We don't know what the Serie A giants will be named, but we could imagine Naples FC or Campania Calcio at this early stage.
