After a disappointing season for Juventus domestically and in Europe, what will FIFA 22 hold for Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates?
We're taking an in-depth look at the Piemonte Calcio ratings below.
Cristiano Ronaldo (92 OVR → 91 OVR)
Yes, we're calling it now - CR7 will fall into the rest of the pack on FIFA 22.
In FIFA 21, he had a 92 rating - bridging the gap between the 93-rated Lionel Messi and the rest - with Neymar, Kevin De Bruyne and Robert Lewandowski all rated 91.
The thing is now - is Cristiano now actually a better player than those three? We think not, which is why he will likely be rated 91 OVR in FIFA 22.
Paulo Dybala (OVR 88 → 87 OVR)
It is hard to see Paulo Dybala maintaining his high 88 OVR rating in FIFA 22, given he scored just four goals last season.
We all know that the Argentine has bags of ability, but he wasn't able to convert that into performances in an injury-ridden 2020/21 campaign.
So, we believe Dybala will likely be downgraded to 87 OVR in FIFA 22.
Matthijs de Ligt (OVR 85 → 86 OVR)
Having arrived at Juventus with a huge reputation from Ajax, Matthijs de Ligt continues to develop his game consistently.
The Dutchman performed well in a struggling Juventus side, as well as for the Netherlands at Euro 2020.
So, we think de Ligt will be upgraded to 86 OVR in FIFA 22.
Wojciech Szczesny (OVR 87 → 86 OVR)
A fourth-place finish is simply not what is expected in Turin, so many of Piemonte Calcio's stars could be under threat.
Polish 'keeper Wojciech Szczesny could be one of them, having had somewhat of a shaky campaign.
So, we think that Szczesny will be 86 OVR in FIFA 22.
Giorgio Chiellini (87 OVR → 86 OVR)
Italian veteran Giorgio Chiellini looks likely to be one of the Piemonte Calcio stars set to take a hit to their attributes.
While he will is still a top defender, he is not getting any younger and a decline is imminent, so will likely be rated 86 OVR in FIFA 22.
However, his impressive Euro 2020 form could prove us wrong on this one.
Alex Sandro (85 OVR → 85 OVR)
Alex Sandro performed consistently last season, making 26 Serie A appearances while picking up two goals and one assist.
The Brazillian will be hoping to improve on his attacking returns next season while remaining defensively solid.
So, we think Sandro will remain as an 85 OVR in FIFA 22.
Leonardo Bonucci (85 OVR → 85 OVR)
Leonardo Bonucci partnered with his club teammate and oldest friend Giorgio Chiellini brilliantly at Euro 2020.
The veteran continues to show his class and experience when stepping onto the field for club and country.
Despite entering the final years of his career, we believe Bonucci will keep his 85 OVR rating in FIFA 22.
Alvaro Morata (82 OVR → 84 OVR)
Morata keeps on silencing his haters with excellent performances in big games!
The Spaniard picked up 11 goals and 10 assists in the 2020/21 Serie A campaign, whilst also scoring six goals in eight Champions League games.
So, we think EA will boost Morata to an 84 OVR in FIFA 22.
Arthur (84 OVR → 83 OVR)
Despite Arthur's clear quality, he has not the season that Juventus fans had hoped for.
Having made only 22 appearances in the Serie A in the 2020/21 campaign, the Brazillian scored just one goal while not registering a single assist.
So, we think Arthur will be downgraded to 83 OVR in EA's next title.
Federico Chiesa (78 OVR → 81 OVR)
Federico Chiesa is one of several Italian youngsters to emerge in the past couple of seasons.
Having scored 9 goals and picked up 9 assists for Juventus in the 2020/21 Serie A season, the 23-year-old went on to play a crucial part in Italy's Euro 2020 victory.
So, we think Chiesa will receive a boost to 81 OVR and will be moved to a Right Winger in FIFA 22.
