ICONs are always an exciting part of FIFA Ultimate Team and the next edition of the game will be no different.
With 100 ICONs on FIFA 21, will we see any new legends added next year?
Release Date
FIFA 22 won't be released until the latter half of 2021 so there is no official release date just yet.
However, the game will likely be released between Friday, 24 September and Friday, 8 October, 2021, judging by the release in previous years.
Predictions
We are hoping for some exciting new legends to return to the game next season, so here is who we think could join the growing list of ICONs on FIFA Ultimate Team.
Wayne Rooney
Is it time for Wayne Rooney to become an ICON?
England’s record goal scorer has now officially retired, paving the way for Wazza to join the ICON ranks.
Ricardo Carvalho
Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho was a key part of both Chelsea and Real Madrid’s success during his career.
Having won the league title in England, Spain and Portugal, Carvalho is one of the best defenders of his generation.
Adriano
Do we need another unstoppable Brazilian striker? No. Do we want one? Absolutely.
Former Inter powerhouse Adriano was almost unstoppable in his heyday, and a set of ICONs could prove very popular.
Yaya Toure
Not yet officially retired, Yaya Toure has recently spoken of his desire to continue playing.
However, if that does not come to fruition, we would love to see the Ivorian become a FUT ICON. If not Yaya, we wouldn’t mind Kolo either!
Andres Iniesta
Another player not yet retired; Andres Iniesta will almost certainly become a FUT ICON at some stage.
We can’t wait to be able to re-unite prime Iniesta and Xavi in midfield!
