FIFA 22 Besiktas Career Mode Guide: Starting lineup and who to sign

Besiktas has dominated the Turkish league for years now, but can't reach the same level of success in Europe.

So, have you got what it takes to take Besiktas all the way to European glory in FIFA 22 Career Mode?

Team Rating

Besiktas has a 4-star rating in FIFA 22.

The breakdown of the ratings is as follows: ATT 75, MID 75, DEF 73.

Starting Lineup and Formation

The 4-2-3-1 formation is most suitable for Besiktas in order to get the most out of their attackers whilst providing good cover in defence.

The wide or narrow variation can be used depending on your own personal preference.

Starting with the main man up front, on-loan Chelsea striker, Michy Batshuayi, who will hopefully be netting the goals for the side.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT - You'll need to make some signings in order to compete at the top level

The wingers operating either side of Batshuayi are Kevin Nkoudou and Alex Teixeira, who should provide both goals and assists for the team.

Giving the team stability in midfield are Miralem Pjanic and Salih Ucan, with Adem Ljajic in the number 10 role.

In the full-back positions, we've gone for Valentin Rosier and Ridvan Yilmaz, whilst Francisco Montero partners the captain, Domagoj Vida in central defence.

20-year-old Ersin Destanoglu is the man between the posts.

Tactics and Instructions

With Batshuayi being the main target in the attack, we want to maximise his goal threat.

So, instruct the striker to Stay Forward, Get In Behind and Stay Central to give him the best possible chance of a sight at goal and a chance to use his five-star weak foot!

Make sure you instruct your two defensive midfielders to Cover Centre and Stay Back While Attacking, or you may leave yourself vulnerable to the counter attack.

You could also instruct your number 10, Adem Ljajic to Stay Forward, in order to provide more support for Batshuayi on the break.

Development Plans

When it comes to developing youngsters, Besiktas doesn't have the best options in the world, to say the least, so you'll need to sign some quality young players from the transfer market.

The two fullbacks, however, are a beacon of light for the future of the club.

Valentin Rosier (POT 82) and Ridvan Yilmaz (POT 81) can be transformed into a solid pairing with just a few years of training.

The goalkeeper, Ersin Destanoglu (POT 81) is another youngster who can develop into a top-level player in a few seasons time.

We would recommend transforming Alex Teixeira (POT 77) into a Right-Winger, as his stats are perfect for this role and he can cement his position in the side on the right flank.

Starting budget: £13 million

Who should go?

Besiktas seems to have several older players at the club, who can be considered as 'dead wood'.

Atiba Hutchinson (OVR 75), Cyle Larin (OVR 74), Guven Yalcin (OVR 68), Kenan Karaman (OVR 70) and Oguzhan Ozyakup (OVR 72) can all go to free up some funds for new signings.

We would also be tempted to let Rachid Ghezzal (OVR 78) leave too as he is not in the starting 11 and can generate around £15m for a quality signing.

Loans

Ajdin Hasic (POT 78) is one of the more promising youngsters on the books who isn't near the first team at the moment, so a loan spell early on could do him the world of good.

Can Bozdogan (POT 76) can be signed permanently at the end of the season, as he is currently on loan from Schalke 04.

Serdar Saatci (POT 76) and Emre Bilgin (POT 74) are both promising young players capable of becoming top league quality.

Besiktas already have several players out on loan too, with Utku Yuvakuran (POT 74) and Ahmet Gulay (POT 74) the ones to keep an eye on in FIFA 22.

Who to sign?

The main areas where Besiktas needs upgrading in FIFA 22 is the midfield and defence, with Salih Ucan and Francisco Montero just not good enough for the quality of team we are chasing.

A box-to-box midfielder who can break up the play but also drive forward and support the attack is exactly what we are looking for.

AC Milan’s Franck Kessie (OVR 84) is our favourite in this position, but we recommend waiting for a season so you could sign him on a free transfer as you are on a tight budget.

With an incredible 94 Stamina and high work rates both defensively and offensively, Kessie really does cover every blade of grass.

As mentioned before, you will definitely need to buy a new centre-half.

Liverpool's Joe Gomez (OVR 82) is our preferred option in this position, but he'll cost pretty much all of your budget, even after player sales!

TIME TO WORK - Stay on top of these targets and you'll be flying

The board has assigned Continental Success as a medium priority, so you'll need to stay on top of this one too.

The Financial and Youth Development targets are a low priority, so you don't need to stress too much about these.
