If your Career Mode team doesn’t have a substantial war chest, like most of the European giants, then loan signings are a great way to bring in quality players for a cut-price. Ideally, you’ll sign a young prospect on loan for a season or two, developing his skills, before signing him on a permanent deal once you have the budget.

How to choose the Best Loan Signings for FIFA 20 career mode

Finding the best loanee players is no easy feat – luckily for you here at Realsport we have put in the hard yards, so you don’t have to. Here we are looking at high potential youngsters that are available to loan on FIFA 20. All our loan signings have a rating of at least 65 and a potential of at least 81.

How to make a loan signing

The great thing about loan signings is that no transfer fee is required. We break down how to successfully sign a player on loan.

1. Search for the player in the Transfer Tab

Once you've found your desired player, add them to your transfer hub.

2. Find the player in your Transfer Hub and click 'Approach to loan'

Once you've clicked 'approach to loan', you will enter transfer negotiations.

3. Decide on the length of the loan

You can decide between a short term, 1-year or 2-year loan.

4. Negotiate a Wage split

You can propose any percentage split of the player's wage - if you agree upon a wage split, this will conclude a successful negotiation.

5. Await the email to confirm your loanee's arrival

Once you've successfully negotiated the deal, you have to wait until the confirmation email that the player has agreed to join your club.

Rodrigo Bentancur (OVR 79 – POT 89)

A product of the Boca Juniors youth system, Rodrigo Bentancur moved to Juventus back in 2017 for a fee of £11.25 million – a hefty price considering he was just 20 years old.

In FIFA 20, Bentancur’s 87 stamina portrays his natural athleticism, but the midfielder also possesses top class technical skills, with 85 ball control, 85 short passing and 84 dribbling. Sign him on loan and he’ll have no issue controlling your team from the middle of the park.

Thilo Kehrer (OVR 79 – POT 86)

Thilo Kehrer joined PSG just last year, in the summer of 2018 – he played in 27 Ligue 1 games during his first season, so if you loan him, you’ll be acquiring the services of an experienced first team player.

Kehrer’s in-game stats reveal his defensive prowess – with 85 aggression and both tackling stats over 80, he won’t be losing many tussles. In addition, the defender has a five-star weak foot, so he’s useful as a ball playing centre back.

Rodrygo (OVR 77 – POT 90)

Club: Real Madrid

Country: Brazil

Best stats: 87 agility, 86 acceleration, 84 balance

Wage: £46,000 a week

Rodygo made headlines after scoring a hattrick and getting an assist in his second ever Champions League game for Los Blancos. Evidently, this youngster is a serious talent and is available to loan in FIFA 20.

With a potential rating of 90, Rodrygo will become one of the best players in the game after a few seasons. For now, you can utilise his amazing physical attributes – with 87 agility, 86 acceleration and 84 balance, he’ll be a tricky customer for any defender he’s up against.

Tammy Abraham (OVR 76 – POT 85)

Wage: £60,000 a week

Tammy Abraham has had a breakthrough start to the season, scoring 10 goals in 12 Premier League appearances for Chelsea – he’s made good on his chances and is now a vital player for the London-based team.

Therefore, we were extremely surprised to discover that the young Englishman is loan listed at the start of the FIFA 20 Career Mode! Abraham is a natural finisher, with 79 finishing and 78 heading accuracy, and will make a great temporary signing to lead your team.

Axel Tuanzebe (OVR 74 – POT 85)

Best stats: 80 sprint speed, 76 composure, 76 agility

Wage: £45,000 a week

Having retuned from his loan at Aston Villa, Axel Tuanzebe is still very much a fringe player for Manchester United, making just five appearances so far this season. Therefore, he is rather predictably available for loan on Career Mode.

The English prospect has a strong potential of 85 and currently possesses decent athletic stats of 80 sprint speed, 76 agility and 75 strength. Tuanzebe’s 74 defensive awareness and 72 aggression means he is a capable defender and worth a loaning.

Merih Demiral (OVR 74 – POT 85)

Merih Demiral moved from Sassuolo to Juventus over the summer, for a fee of £16.2 million. Since then he has made just one appearance, so as you’d expect, he can be signed on loan on Career Mode.

Demiral is a useful defender who possesses a strong set of stats (76 defensive awareness, 77 sliding tackle, 75 standing tackle). If you’re willing to pay part of his £41,000 a week wages, you can sign the Turkish man in loan.

Brahim (OVR 73 – POT 86)

The young Spaniard is a youth product of Manchester City and joined Real Madrid back in January 2019. Since then, he’s made 13 appearances for the Spanish giants, contributing a goal and two assists. 

Brahim’s stats reflect the winger’s potential, as his 86 balance, 83 agility and 81 dribbling mean he has all the requirements to become a dangerous wide man. If you sign Brahim, you’ll also secure his five-star weak foot and four-star skill moves.

Mickael Cuisance (OVR 72 – POT 84)

Wage: £26,000 a week

Mickael Cuisance signed for Bayern Munich over the summer for a fee of £10.8 million – he currently has one goal in three Bayern Munich II appearances and has made two appearances in the Bundesliga.

With 85 curve, 79 crossing and 78 short passing, it’s clear that the Frenchman has a bright future as a midfielder – you can sign him on loan if you cover part of his £26,000 a week wages.

Riqui Puig (OVR 71 – POT 87)

A product of the youth system, you can now find Riqui Puig in the Barcelona B set up. He currently has two goals and two assists across 12 appearances in the Spanish second division, so perhaps he is ready for a bigger challenge?

Puig has 79 short passing, 78 vision and 76 long passing and therefore he is another youngster who can help run your team from the midfield. With 87 potential, Puig is set to become a world class talent.

Eljif Elmas (OVR 71 – POT 84)

Best stats: 78 shot power, 77 aggression, 74 dribbling

Wage: £17,000 a week 

Eljif Elmas joined traded Fenerbahce for Napoli this summer, in a move that cost the Serie A team £14.4 million. The young midfilder has seen a fair amount of first team game time, making seven appearances in the Serie A and playing in three champions League games.

If you’re willing to pay part of Elmas’ £17,000 a week wage, you’ll secure the services of a midilder with good playmaking skills (74 short pasing, 72 long passing, 71 vision) and a decent long range shot (78 shot power, 74 long shots).
