FIFA 20 Career Mode: Contract Expiry signings 2023 – De Bruyne, Van Dijk, Kante & more

If you're planning for the future, these are the star players you can snap up for free.

Some of the greatest players in the world are understandably tied down to long-term contracts.

If you get far enough in FIFA 20 Career Mode, you can grab these world class players on the cheap, with a little bit of luck of course.

Head here on how to make a Contract Expiry signing.

The following will be out of a contract in four years’ time in 2023.

Jan Oblak (OVR 91 – POT 93)

Position: GK

Age: 26

Club: Atletico Madrid

Country: Slovenia

Wage: £113,000 a week

Slovenian international Jan Oblak is officially the highest-rated goalkeeper on FIFA 20.

With age still on his side, he will still be at the highest level by the end of his contract. With two stats above 90, Oblak is a brickwall between the sticks and could be the difference between winning and losing a game.

Kevin De Bruyne (OVR 91 – POT 91)

Position: CAM, CM

Age: 28

Club: Manchester City

Country: Belgium

Wage: £333,000 a week

Kevin De Bruyne has the highest overall in the Premier League. Alongside elite company of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, KDB is one of three players to be in the 90+ OVR club in the English League.

When his contract nears its expiration date, the Belgian will be just past his best, and likely to be around a still very strong 89 rating.

Mo Salah (OVR 90 – POT 90)

Position: RW, ST

Age: 27

Club: Liverpool

Country: Egypt

Wage: £216,000 a week

‘Egyptian King’ Mohamed Salah is one of the hottest properties in world football at the moment. Once dubbed a ‘one season wonder’, Salah is now in his third season for Liverpool and is still at the top of his game.

He too will have a lot of clubs after him once his contract expires so be sure to offer him a deal he cannot refuse.

Virgil van Dijk (OVR 90 – POT 91)

Position: CB

Age: 27

Club: Liverpool

Country: Netherlands

Wage: £180,000 a week

PFA Player of the Season Virgil van Dijk will remain the best centre back in world football for the foreseeable future.

In the lucky circumstance that his contract expires, then it is a no-brainer to sign VVD. Even if his pace declines he is likely to be a world class defender until the very end of his career.

N’golo Kante (OVR 89 – POT 90)

Position: CDM, CM

Age: 28

Club: Chelsea

Country: France

Wage: £212,000 a week

The most likeable man on the planet N’Golo Kante could be a part of your midfield for free by 2023 in your Career Mode.

You may be able to get one or two seasons out of him before his physical ability completely deteriorates. We advise you sign him for a one or two-year contract at the most.

Sergio Busquets (OVR 89 – POT 89)

Position: CDM, CM

Age: 30

Club: Barcelona

Country: Spain

Wage: £270,000 a week

Sergio Busquets is Barca’s second-longest serving player in the squad behind Lionel Messi.

The Spaniard has his contract until 2023 meaning he will have completed a 15-year term for the Catalonian giants. Despite being up for contract expiry, he is likely to retire in Barcelona but attempting to bring a player of his calibre in to your team is worth the try.

Sadio Mane (OVR 88 – POT 88)

Position: LW, LM

Age: 27

Club: Liverpool

Country: Senegal

Wage: £198,000 a week

The Champions League winner has just under four years left on his contract. A move away from Merseyside in 2023 is very possible for the Senegalese attacker could be persuaded to join your club.

His pace, dribbling and shooting should remain intact and should continue to be one of the best attackers in the Premier League.

Raheem Sterling (OVR 88 – POT 90)

Position: RW, LW

Age: 24

Club: Manchester City

Country: England

Wage: £230,00 a week

Raheem Sterling was a crucial part of Pep Guardiola’s record-breaking title winning season. He is the youngest player on this list and has his prime years still to come.

If you are in a position to approach to sign him, make sure you offer him much higher wages and a 5-year deal. Otherwise it is almost certain he will look somewhere else. His pace and general skill set isn’t going to get worse any time soon so grab him when you can.

Marco Reus (OVR 88 – POT 88)

Position: CAM, LM, ST

Age: 30

Club: Borussia Dortmund

Country: Germany

Wage: £153,000 a week

Marco Reus is sure to go down in history at the Signal Iduna Park. Now the Borussia Dortmund captain, he is just one of three players who stayed at Die Schwarzgelben after winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011-12.

His contract expires in 2023 where he will be 33 years of age. At this point his physical ability and skill woud’ve fallen off by now. His core stats such as shooting and passing will remain but unfortunately he will not be the player he used to be.

Toni Kroos (OVR 88 – POT 88)

Position: CM

Age: 29

Club: Real Madrid

Country: Germany

Wage: £297,000 a week

Toni Kroos, unlike some players on this list, will remain a quality player after the end of their contract. The German doesn’t rely on physical stats to get him through games. He orchestrates a match at his own pace and this will not change as he gets older.

Yes, some of his stats will not be as good but he is definitely worth picking up as a midfielder. One of the best passers of the ball in world football and that title will not fade with his age.
