FIFA 19 Wonderkids: Best Belgian players to sign in Career Mode

Following the rise to prominence of Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium have been tipped for great things on the world stage. Finishing third in the World Cup is an admirable achievement but the current side may have one more crack at international glory. Who will be the young guns filtering in to boost an ageing team? Youri Tielemans has impressed at international level already as has Jason Denayer, but do they have the quality to improve the current squad?

How to choose the best Belgian wonderkids in FIFA 19 Career Mode

We are looking at the best young players from Belgium to sign on FIFA 19 Career Mode. Each player on the list must have the potential to reach an 80 overall or higher whilst having a starting rating of 70 OVR or more. These players are all aged 23 or under at the start of Career mode and have the ability to grow.

Youri Tielemans (OVR 79 - POT 88)

Age: 21Position: CMClub: MonacoCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 88 Long Shots, 88 Shot Power, 84 CurveCost: £36 million (release clause)Wage: £46,000

Monaco have begun the 2018/19 season disastrously, finding themselves 19th after 11 games. However, one bright spot so far has been the contribution of Youri Tielemans who has bagged three goals from midfield. The Belgian star can play anywhere in central midfield and has developed a penchant for the spectacular.

Tielemans can develop into one of the best central midfield players on FIFA 19 reaching an 88 OVR. For £36 million you will be getting a well-rounded playmaker who possesses a devastating 88 long shot attribute, although his 53 pace can let him down.

Charly Musonda (OVR 75 - POT 85)

Age: 22Position: RWClub: VitesseCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 92 Agility, 89 Acceleration, 84 BalanceCost: N/AWage: £56,000

Young Belgian winger Charly Musonda has struggled for consistency over the last couple of seasons. Having spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, he has once again been shipped out, this time to Vitesse. He is yet to make an appearance this season due to a knee injury but the fact Chelsea have kept hold of him show he has a lot of promise.

A frightening turn of pace, excellent 84 balance and 82 dribbling attributes make Musonda an exciting prospect on FIFA 19. Managers will have to wait to sign the 22-year-old with an 85 potential as he is currently out on loan, although his wages at Chelsea are much higher than other players of similar ability.

Leander Dendoncker (OVR 78 - POT 84)

Age: 23Position: CBClub: WolvesCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 89 Stamina, 87 Strength, 86 Shot PowerCost: N/AWage: £16,000

Leander Dendoncker was greatly sought after over the summer and found himself signing for newly promoted Wolves on loan from Anderlecht. However, the versatile defender has only made two appearances in the EFL Cup during his time in England, struggling to break into the first team that have performed so well thus far.

Low wages and brilliant all-round attributes make Dendoncker an exciting prospect for managers on FIFA 19 Career Mode, although you will have to wait until his loan has finished. Physically the 23-year-old is an imposing figure standing at 6’2” and possessing 87 strength and is capable of playing in defence or midfield.

Leandro Trossard (OVR 78 - POT 84)

Age: 23Position: LMClub: KRC GenkCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 93 Agility, 92 Acceleration, 89 JumpingCost: £20.9 million (release clause)Wage: £15,000

Leandro Trossard has enjoyed an excellent start to the season scoring 15 goals in 17 matches in all competitions. Equally, KRC Genk have begun the 2018/19 campaign superbly losing just the one Europa League match away to Sarpsborg. Operating from the left wing, Trossard will surely be attracting interest from some of Europe’s bigger clubs this January.

Talented winger Trossard boasts 92 acceleration and 93 agility making him a nightmare for full backs to stop. For £20 million, managers can sign the 23-year-old who can reach an 84 OVR and already possesses a lethal 81 long shot attribute.

Adnan Januzaj (OVR 77 - POT 83)

expand image

Age: 23Position: RWClub: Real SociedadCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 83 Agility, 81 Dribbling, 80 Ball ControlCost: £24.3 million (release clause)Wage: £24,000

Ex-Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has missed the beginning of this season with a knee problem, preventing him from improving on the 28 La Liga appearances he made last season. The 23-year-old has scored three La Liga goals in his career and will look to improve on that tally when back to full fitness.

Excellent dribbling, agility and ball control make Januzaj a dangerous prospect for opposition defenders. For just £24.3 million, FIFA 19 Career Mode managers can sign the promising Belgian who has an 83 potential.

Jason Denayer (OVR 75 - POT 82)

expand image

Age: 23Position: CBClub: LyonCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 77 Standing Tackle, 76 Jumping, 76 InterceptionsCost: £14.8 million (release clause)Wage: £34,000

With nine international caps already, Jason Denayer has proven to be a reliable defender although he failed to make the grade at Manchester City. Denayer is certain to stay at the highest level and has helped new club Lyon to an unbeaten start in the Champions League, including an impressive victory over his former employers.

6’0” centre back Denayer begins with no outstanding attributes however he has the potential to reach an 82 OVR and for £14 million he could turn out to be a bargain. 70 pace and 75 strength allow Denayer to deal with the majority of forwards although may struggle against the very best.

Divock Origi (OVR 77 - POT 82)

expand image

Age: 23Position: STClub: LiverpoolCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 79 Sprint Speed, 79 Shot Power, 78 PositioningCost: £20.3 million (release clause)Wage: £73,000

Extremely out of favour under Jurgen Klopp, Divock Origi will surely be looking for a move away from Anfield in January. The Belgian international has only made two matchday squads without playing a minute, although did shine in his only appearance for the clubs under-23 side, scoring one and assisting one in a 3-0 win over Swansea.

6’1” forward Origi can play anywhere across the front three and possesses the mobility and strength to excel in each position. For £20 million managers can sign the forward who has an 82 potential, although his £73k wages are expensive to say the least.

Alexis Saelemaekers (OVR 70 - POT 82)

expand image

Age: 19Position: RMClub: AnderlechtCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 81 Agility, 77 Acceleration, 75 CrossingCost: £4.6 million (release clause)Wage: £5,000

19-year-old wide midfielder Alexis Saelemaekers was ever-present in Anderlecht’s opening ten matches, creating three goals although the youngster is now serving a suspension following a red card. The Belgian under-21 international can also play right-back showing his maturity and versatility.

With an 82 potential on FIFA 19, £4.6 million appears to be a bargain for the young midfielder. Cheap wages are another positive for the exciting youngster who can cover in defence too. His 47 strength is a downside, but his 75 crossing means your strikers will always have quality service with Saelemaekers in your side.

Landry Dimata (OVR 79 - POT 81)

expand image

Age: 21Position: STClub: AnderlechtCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 81 Sprint Speed, 78 Acceleration, 78 StrengthCost: N/AWage: £23,000

Eight goals in 11 league appearances for on-loan striker Landry Dimata shows an excellent return for the young Belgian. Unfortunately, Dimata has picked up a hamstring injury which has kept him out of Anderlecht’s previous two matches and disrupted his excellent form.

Dimata possesses brilliant physical attributes which are his strength, couple this with his trainable 75 finishing and he can turn into a star striker. He is on loan at Anderlecht this season but should be available fairly cheap once the loan is complete.

Jordan Lukaku (OVR 77 - POT 81)

expand image

Age: 23Position: LMClub: LazioCountry: BelgiumBest Stats: 93 Sprint Speed, 89 Acceleration, 84 StrengthCost: £18 million (release clause)Wage: £34,000

Brother of Manchester United striker Romelu, Jordan Lukaku is a powerhouse winger capable of playing left back too. The left-sided Belgian missed the start of the season with a knee ligament injury and has yet to make an appearance for Lazio in 2018/19.

Lukaku is sure to be popular on FIFA 19 Career Mode, the 23-year-old boasts 91 pace and 84 strength and can dominate any defender not up to the task. He can reach an 81 overall and be a quality addition to any squad with his versatile qualities.
