World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's first big content update has finally been announced—WoW Dragonflight 10.1.

For the first time, World of Warcraft's dragon-themed expansion is set to receive its first major content update. So far, there's not much concrete information as to what's coming in the 10.1 update, however, there are leaks to work off of.

That being said, here's everything we know about WoW Dragonflight 10.1.

WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.1 Release Date

Although the developers over at Blizzard Entertainment unveiled plenty of information about what's to come in Dragonflight patch 10.1 an official release date was not provided.

However, looking at the 2023 WoW Dragonflight Content Roadmap and the two-month intervals between the 10.0.5 and 10.0.7 patches, an early Summer release is the most likely. This would put the WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.1 release date at around May to early June.

Additionally, there will be more new rares and elite creatures to take down and new treasures to claim.

In Zaralek Cavern, players will get to unlock yet another Renown track as they work together with the local inhabitants found under the Dragon Isles—the molefolk known as Niffen and the Drogbar.

FRENEMIES: The Alliance and Horde can unite in a guild for the first time

Cross-faction guilds will be a part of World of Warcraft with the release of the WoW Dragonflight 10.1 patch.

Players could do just about anything with others of the opposing faction once cross-faction play was first introduced. From Mythic+ and raids to other types of instanced content, after years of separation, suddenly, the Alliance and Horde players could officially fight side by side. And now, they can take part in the same guild.

WoW Dragonflight Season 2 Arrives, Bringing a New Raid, Tier Sets, and More

Coming as a part of WoW Dragonflight patch 10.1, WoW Dragonflight Season 2 is set to bring on the new Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible raid, a brand-new Mythic+ rotation, and new tier sets.

Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible

Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible will be Dragonflight's second raid. Holding a total of nine bosses, players will get to visit Neltharion's experimentation lab where he created the Dractyr prior to becoming Deathwing.

New Mythic+ Dungeon Rotation

In Dragonflight Season 2 players will get to experience the remaining four dungeons in the Dragonflight expansion. Additionally, players will once again take on four dungeons from past expansions namely Legion, Battle for Azeroth, and Cataclysm expansions.

Here is the list of eight dungeons:

  • Halls of Infusion (Dragonflight)
  • Brackenhide Hollow (Dragonflight)
  • Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr (Dragonflight)
  • Neltharus (Dragonflight)
  • Neltharion's Lair (Legion)
  • Freehold (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Underrot (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Vortex Pinnacle (Cataclysm)

New Tier Sets

With a new raid comes brand-new tier sets. As opposed to Dragonflight Season 1 where the tier sets focused on buffing classes' abilities, Season 2's tier sets will be more meaningful, impacting resources, cooldowns, and talents.

More Open-World Content

The release of WoW Dragonflight 10.1 expands the campaign of Dragonflight, giving players more quests in the new Zaralek Cavern and already-existing zones.

The new quests and lore will largely revolve around the Blue Dragonflight and the Titan Keeper Tyr. In addition to that, players can expect assaults from one of the Primal Incarnates, Fyrakk. These assaults work similarly to the ones from the Legion assaults and the current Primal Storms in the Dragon Isles.

New Dragonriding Mount and Glyphs

A new Dragonriding mount will be added in WoW Dragonflight 10.1, named the Winding Slitherdrake.

NEW REINS: Players can obtain the Winding Slitherdrake Dragonriding mount in 101.

Inspired by the Cloud Serpent model players know and love from Mists of Pandaria, this mount is unlike any of the already-existing mounts in the game and will be highly customizable like the ones before it.

Players will have the chance to obtain more Dragonriding glyphs and Drakewatcher Manuscripts.
