WoW Classic WotLK Leatherworking Guide: Leveling, Materials, & Recipes

WoW Classic WotLK Leatherworking Guide

WoW Classic WotLK Leatherworking Guide

Leatherworking has long been one of World of Warcraft's staple professions. As one of the professions that solely focus on gear, for the most part, it crafts leather and mail gear. It's an incredibly potent profession that many look at during the beginning of a new expansion to help them get ahead of the curve.

This type of benefit can be expected come Wrath of the Lich King Classic's release, as this cold-hearted expansion will have tons of new recipes to learn and items for Leatherworkers to craft.

With that in mind, here's an in-depth guide for Leatherworking in WotLK Classic.

WoW Classic WotLK Leatherworking Guide

As one of three crafting professions that focuses on creating gear, Leatherworking can provide a myriad of armor options for both Leather and Mail wearers alike. Because of that it always brings something new and exciting for players every expansion. It's a profession that, unlike Tailoring, Leatherworking, and the like, can not only provide gear but can also provide significant character increases as well with profession-specific enchants.

In this guide, we'll take a look at what the profession offers in the upcoming WotLK Classic expansion, provide a leveling guide from Vanilla to WotLK, and list out some recipes to look out for that will be highly sought after in the new expansion.

What does Leatherworking offer in WotLK Classic?

Once WotLK Classic launches, there will be tons of items and other features players can benefit from.

To start it off, there are lots of gear that players can benefit from, especially at the start of the expansion. Armor like Revenant's Breastplate, Durable Nerubhide Cape, and Earthgiving Legguards, which are all BoE meaning you can make a pretty penny. There's also armor you can craft later on with recipes from raids such as Ulduar, ToC, and ICC, gear such as Belt of Arctic Life, Bracers of Swift Death, Footpads of Impending Death, and more.

How to level Leatherworking in WotLK Classic

Unlike players who hold Tailoring or Enchanting professions where materials can be hard to come by as they don't have a gathering profession to benefit them, Leatherworking can utilize Skinning as a great and economic way to level up their skills.

Knowing that it can be fairly straightforward in that players can just skin mobs for their required materials makes the whole process much easier and more economic.
