With EA's next title now coming over the horizon, we're taking a look at whether The Journey will be making a return in FIFA 22.
Will The Journey be on FIFA 22?
Beginning in FIFA 17 and concluding in FIFA 20, The Journey was a story mode where players assumed the role of Alex Hunter as he strives to be the best footballer in Europe.
The Journey was one of the more original modes that EA has done with the FIFA series in a long time and there’s huge potential here for FIFA to create a whole new story and characters, or even continue the storyline of Hunter.
We believe that after a year-long hiatus, a return for The Journey is on the cards.
EA hasn’t confirmed any FIFA 22 features so there won’t be anything concrete regarding this until potentially we get news at the EA Play event in June.
Will FIFA 22 have an Online Career Mode?
An Online Career Mode could be coming to FIFA 22!
EA has dropped a massive FIFA 22 Online Career Mode hint by mentioning it in a job advert on their website.
The job description states "Whether that be in our online career mode, ultimate team, or core online systems and protocols. We are looking for engineers who enjoy prototyping and planning, adding amazing new features to an existing and beloved game, and improving existing code."
In addition, in the job responsibilities, it takes that this particular role will 'develop technical solutions for online game features'.
The language used within this description seems to suggest that EA are planning an Online Career Mode at some stage, whether that is for FIFA 22, FIFA 23 or even further down the line.
