FIFA 21 still has plenty to offer, with the Team of the Season promo in full swing.
However, FIFA 22 is now on the horizon!
So, read on to find out whether we'll see VAR introduced to EA's next title.
Latest - FIFA 22 Release Date
Unsurprisingly there has been no word on when FIFA 22 will officially be released, but we can have a pretty accurate guess.
FIFA 22 will likely be released between Friday, 24 September and Friday, 8 October, 2021, judging by the release in previous years.
FIFA 22
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are still in their early stages, and FIFA 22 will be the first in the series optimised for the Next Gen consoles.
The Demo was cancelled for FIFA 21, but we should see a FIFA 22 Demo before release this year which will be our first look at the game.
After last year's delayed release, FIFA 22 should be released in mid-to-late September. Will we see Kylian Mbappe as the cover star this year?
There should be plenty of new additions and features to the game too, including some brand new FIFA 22 ICONs.
VAR
Will we see VAR introduced? Hopefully not. Not if it is as frustrating as it is on TV anyway!
Whether it takes an age, or they come to the wrong decision (see Tomas Soucek's red card), VAR has been problematic.
There is just no need for it on FIFA 22, as the correct decisions SHOULD be made already by the AI.
Goal line technology has been added to the game, but this is more for graphic purposes than anything else, so VAR could be used in this way.
VAR could be a fun addition, especially in offline game modes. Being able to set VAR as on or off could be a crucial factor in it's success on the game.
