When is the Next PlayStation State of Play broadcast taking place?

Sony's State of Play initiative began in 2019 and since then, we've seen a lot from PlayStation. Today, we're getting another and we're expecting another one after E3 as Sony isn't attending.

For now though, here's everything you need to know about the latest State of Play presentation.

LATEST - It's Going Down Later Today!

The next State of Play presentation is happening later today and it's all about Guerrilla's Horizon Forbidden West!

We know that it's due to be about 20 minutes long, with 14 minutes of that being exclusive gameplay, but other than that... It's anyone's guess as to what we're going to see.

This game will follow on from Horizon Zero Dawn's narrative, but it plans to take Aloy to a dangerous new frontier as she continues to search for answers about what went wrong all those years before. There's a new batch of enemies and new things to uncover, but we're certain that Sylens and HADES are going to crop up at some point. Maybe not in today's State of Play, but at some point.

How to Watch It

You can watch the latest State of Play presentation on PlayStation's Twitch channel, or via PlayStation's YouTube channel. If you want to save yourself a click or two, we've got the YouTube Broadcast of the new State of Play Presentation embedded below!

The unique countdown for the event begins at 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST and will last around five hours. This means the full gameplay reveal for Horizon Forbidden West is due to kick off at 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST.

There's a little bit of time to wait, but it will be worth it. You can also keep an eye on the PlayStation Twitter account and Guerrilla's social media channels for the latest regarding how you can watch the new State of Play and what's in-store.

Future State of Play Events

Since its release, PlayStation has hosted three to four separate State of Play events each year. So far in 2021, we have had one State of Play in February, with the second now happening on April 29.

There is usually a State of Play event sometime in May, which we now know is coming on May 27th, followed by the next in August/September.

With Sony's absence from E3 this year, is it very likely we will see a State of Play event this summer.

In this State of Play, Sony may choose to shed more light on some of its latest upcoming releases such as Gran Turismo 7 and God of War: Ragnarok.
