Riot Games have announced a mobile version of hit 5v5 competitive shooter, Valorant. This comes off the back of the hugely popular Valorant Masters tournament, which took place in Reykjavik, Iceland.
The LAN event drew huge numbers on Twitch, peaking at just over one million concurrent viewers. The Grand Finals were contested between FNATIC and Sentinels and the average viewership was over 800k across the entire finals broadcast.
Valorant Mobile Reveal
The main reveal of Valorant Mobile has come as a bit of a surprise. Of course, many other franchises have adopted mobile as a home from home in recent years.
League of Legends, Call of Duty, PUBG and even RuneScape have mobile games available. In many cases there are no sacrifices made on quality to create a mobile game in 2021.
That being said, there’s no confirmation this is going to be a like for like a clone of the main PC title.
Riot has a history of producing high-quality mobile games of their popular franchises with the aforementioned League of Legends: Wild Rift releasing in October 2020.
The game is a full blown MOBA with accessible mobile touch controls for a super slick experience.
With Valorant Mobile set for release, only Mac and console users are unable to access the game. Could Valorant be Riot's first foray into the console market?

ith Valorant exceeding all expectation set out so far it’s no surprise they are looking to expand their horizons.
Riot clearly see Valorant as a franchise worth investing in for the long term. The game officially released on 2 June 2020 and has seen over half a billion games played since.
Who can forget the hectic beta period where you could earn key drops by watching other content creators play the game which caused massive viewership spikes on Twitch.
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Valorant, Riot are offering a month of goodies for players. This will include digital swag, a redeemable player card and an event pass. We could be in for more announcements as the month rolls on.
Valorant Mobile Release Date
As of the time of writing, no specific details for Valorant Mobile have been released. Therefore, we don't know when it'll actually see the light of day.
