These Classic FPS Games Are Coming To PS4

It might be late to the party, but PlayStation 4 fans will finally be able to get their hands on Turok 1 and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil remastered when they launch on the system later this month.

Turok Coming To PS4

Store listings have appeared on the PlayStation Store for both Turok 1 and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, meaning the classic FPS games will be on PlayStation for the first time ever.

First released back in 1997 and 1998, the Turok series helped add some much-needed adult gaming to the Nintendo 64.

Utilising the analogue stick, something the PlayStation initially lacked, the Turok series went on to become cult-classics that are still remembered fondly to this day.

Price

No price has been given on the listings, but the remasters have also been released on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch at a price of $19.99, so it is very likely the games will be $19.99 on PS4 as well.

PlayStation 5

While not officially confirmed, both Turok 1 and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil should be playable on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility.

Release Date

It has been confirmed that the games will release on the PlayStation Store on February 25th 2021, so just under two weeks away.

If you've never heard of Turok before, and we wouldn't blame you because the series hasn't been treated the best in recent years, here is some more information about the game.

Turok

"Turok is back and no dinosaur is safe! When it was first released in 1997, Turok introduced gamers to a world teeming with cunning enemies, traps, puzzles and deadly weapons all within a vast 3D environment ready to explore. Now the classic game has been restored and enhanced with a new visual engine and exciting new features to sink your teeth into!"

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

"Having defeated the Campaigner, Turok throws the Chronocepter into a waiting volcano to destroy it. Unfortunately, the blast awakens an even deadlier force – The Primagen. Once again a Turok is tasked with restoring peace to the land and stopping the Primagen from merging Earth with the nether world."

Both games will feature a Trophy list, which should be the same as the achievements on both Steam and Xbox, so if you want to get ahead of the curve you can check out the Steam achievements for Turok 1 and Turok 2 here.

The games are both much cheaper on Steam too, so if you want to play them, and have a PC, then we recommend buying them on there.
