We can all agree that games you can replay are the best kind, and there's something calm and reassuring about it. Whether you're looking to pick up the last few achievements, or just relax in a familiar open World, some games are timeless, and all the better for it.

Everyone has their favourites they like to go back to, but for us, some games just sit a little above the others for replayability. Here's our list of the best games to take another crack at in 2023.

Honourable Mention: Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 - Zombies Chronicles

Possibly one of the most replayed games of all time, this list wouldn't be complete without some Black Ops Zombies. While Black Ops 3 might not have had the best native Zombies mode, the release of all the legacy maps with a new twist marks this as the one to go back to.

Black Ops 3 had one of the best multiplayer modes ever in Call of Duty, with great weapons, movement, and much more. This forms a solid foundation for Chronicles, as old maps feel much more dynamic, and look far better on a new engine on a replay.

This mix of nostalgia in the best of Treyarch Zombies, married with updated gameplay, makes for a great experience to replay. The modest price tag certainly helps since it's been a good few years since it came out.

5 - Halo: The Master Chief Collection

It might be cheating to put a collection on the list, but it saves us the trouble of picking just one. Halo Infinite might be out, but there are few FPS campaign better to play, or replay, than the original Halo ones.

The multiplayer is also definitely worth a revisit, as it still holds up as one of the best futuristic combat experiences. The Master Chief Collection gives you 7 games in one, for a great price, and tons of content both single and multiplayer.

4 - Elden Ring

Elden ring is the most recent on our list, and it's quite an accolade to become a replay must after such a short time. With hundreds of hours of gameplay on offer, even just in quests and achievements, it's a joy to dive back into and it's easy to experience something different every time.

Multiple endings to the main quest line set it above the rest in terms of replayability, but there's much more besides. A huge open World and a veritable arsenal of weapons to use mean that you'll never be stuck for something to do.

If you're a fan of progression too, chasing completion in Elden Ring is already one of the greatest accomplishments in modern gaming. If you're after the platinum trophy in this mammoth RPG, then you'll need to replay it through at least a few times.

3 - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 is up there with the best-made games of all time, and only falls to the third spot to replay because you can't create a character or pick perks. Much of the joy of this game comes from the main and side quests, but it's an experience worth reliving.

Simply focus on a location you didn't pay much attention to, and you'll find tens of extra hours of playtime that feel brand new. There are also two excellent DLC packs that slot right in, with Blood and Wine being the best of them.

2 - Just Cause 3

This entry might be a surprise to some people, or you may not have even heard of Just Cause 3, but allow us to enlighten you. If ever there was the perfect game to unleash your inner child, with an engaging story and a beautiful open World, this is the game for you.

With well over 100 hours of gameplay in side quests and collectibles, the third entry in the Just Cause Saga is by far the best. It also has one of the best DLC packs put to screen in the Sky Fortress PAck, which gels into the main story and gives you loads of tools to help explore and wreak havoc.

What sets this apart as a perfect game to replay though, is how good it looks, despite coming out in 2015 and being made for PS4. The colour palette alone makes this one of the most relaxing open worlds to go back to, and just simply fly around.

1 - The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Skyrim is the ultimate game to replay, and belongs at the top of any list. Its gigantic world is packed with towns and villages all home to their share of side quests, and there's much more on offer.

There are lots of different playstyles to master, whether it's archery and stealth, all-out brawler, or cunning mage. Even if you don't touch the main quest line (we know you've spent three days in unrelated side-quests, don't lie), there are hundreds of hours of gameplay.

If all that isn't enough, Skyrim has one of the biggest mod scenes on PC, and you can transform the game entirely if you have the hardware. Even small graphics mods can make it a joy to replay, which sets it apart from the rest of the pack.
