Nike has re-released a faithful adaption of its original 'The Nike' football boots.
'The Nike' was the first-ever boot to don the now instantly recognisable Swoosh back in 1971, and now, fifty years after its debut, it's making a comeback.
Here's everything you need to know about the drop...
The Nike 1971 Release Date
'The Nike' football boots drop on December 6, 2021, meaning they're available to buy right now.
The Nike 1971 Design And History
As previously mentioned, 'The Nike' football boots were released in 1971 and cost $16.95 before ultimately being discontinued after not being able to withstand cold and wet weather conditions.
Nowadays, Nike has grown exponentially and is one of the leading manufacturers of football equipment in the world, but it hasn't forgotten where it all began.
The 2021 re-release stays true to the original design, featuring a full-black leather upper, the white Swoosh on the sides, and thirteen conical studs on the soleplate, a staple of football boots at the time.
Adding some colour into the mix, the tongue and insoles feature a graphic referencing the 1970 Mexican World Cup which was won by Brazil, their 3rd trophy at the time.
The Nike 1971 Price
'The Nike' boots cost around $240-250 depending on the retailer.
Where To Buy The Nike 1971 Boots
'The Nike' boots have dropped on the Nike store under the football boot section.
You'll probably want to act fast to pick up a pair though as bots and scalpers will probably be waiting, knowing these retro boots are an exclusive piece of history.
