As we approach Christmas, the football around Europe is keeping us greatly entertained. The goals were flying in over the past seven days, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Huddersfield all smashing in four in the Premier League.
In the Bundesliga, Hannover and Bayer Leverkusen played out a 4-4 draw, and Augsburg wrestled Freiburg in a 3-3 tie. Over in Spain, Barcelona also bagged four against Deportivo La Coruna, and in Serie A Verona produced a shock 3-0 win over AC Milan.
With all those goals and more, predicting the FIFA 18 Team of the Week was challenging this time around. We have a look at the players you could make the Ultimate Team TOTW and be rewarded with in form cards. The cards will be available on Wednesday, December 20 at 6pm GMT. They can be found in packs in the FUT Store, and the Team of the Week can be challenged on Ultimate Team for a coin bonus.
Matthew Ryan (OVR 77 – IF 81)
The Premier League new boys are up to 13th in the table, and they have goalkeeper Matthew Ryan to thank. The Australian number one made seven saves in the 0-0 draw with the high flying Burnley, and it could have been better had Glenn Murray found the net from his penalty.
Ryan’s performance is worth of a rise of four to 81 this week. His normal 77 card will set you back just 700 coins on both PS4 and Xbox One on Ultimate Team.
Julian Korb (OVR 76 – IF 80)
The game of the weekend came from the Bundesliga where Hannover clashed with Bayer Leverkusen in a topsy-turvy 4-4 draw. Hannover’s Julian Korb got the final goal to share the points, and assisted Ihlas Bebou earlier in the match.
The right back would move to wing back if selected, along with an in form increase of four to 80. His normal 76 rating will set you back 600 coins on both consoles.
Federico Fazio (OVR 82 – IF 84)
Roma stole a 1-0 victory over Cagliari in Serie A, with centre back Federico Fazio popping up in the 94th minute to grab the three points. That victory keeps Roma in the title race, with the Stadio Olimpico side fourth in the division and four points off top spot with a game in hand.
Former Tottenham defender Fazio should creep up by two to 84 this week, and you get his normal 82 rated card for 1,500 coins on PS4 and 1,800 on Xbox One.
Naldo (OVR 82 – IF 84)
Schalke defender Naldo also popped up late on to grab the equaliser against Eintracht Frankfurt. Die Konigsblauen completed the turnaround from 2-0 down, and are the closest side to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, but still 11 points behind the high flyers.
Brazil international Naldo should also increase from 82 to 84 this week, with his normal gold card prices at 1,000 coins on PS4 and 1,200 on Xbox One.
Leon Bailey (OVR 76 – SIF 83)
Leon Bailey made the Team of the Week last Wednesday, so back-to-back appearances looks unlikely, but his performance off the bench for Bayer Leverkusen gives him a chance. The Jamaican came on at 3-2 down to Hannover, but his two goals gave them lead with 25 minutes to play. Hannover’s Julian Korb (see above) robbed Bailey of a match-winning performance late on.
Left midfielder Bailey would receive a super in form boost if he were to make the Team of the Week once again, so we are predicting a massive increase to 83 for the 20-year-old. His normal 76 card will cost around 800 coins on both consoles.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (OVR 80 – IF 84)
Lazio central midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic bagged a brace against Atalanta, but it wasn’t enough for victory. The Serbian’s two strikes got the game back to 2-2, but neither side could find the winner after Luis Alberto made it 3-3 with 10 minutes to play. Lazio’s have work to do to finish in the top four with a five point gap between them and arch rivals Roma.
Milinkovic-Savic deserves a four point boost to 84 this week. His normal 80 card can be yours for just under 1,000 coins on the FUT transfer market.
Paulinho (OVR 81 – IF 84)
Six goals in his first season at Barcelona is a pretty good return for Brazil international Paulinho, who has proven that the Chinese Super League can improve you as a footballer. The former Spurs and Guangzhou central midfielder netted a brace in the 4-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna, meaning Barca have a six point lead in La Liga.
Paulinho’s consistent performances this season should finally earn him a TOTW spot this week, and we are predicting a rise of three to 84. For his normal 81 rating, you will need just over 1,000 coins.
Manuel Milinkovic (OVR 59 – IF 74)
Celtic’s 69-match unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership came to an end this week, and we all have Hearts man Manuel Milinkovic to thank. The French left winger scored two and assisted another in a 4-0 demolition, which should spur Edinburgh-based Hearts to move up the table.
Milinkovic only has a 59 overall rating on Ultimate Team, so expect a massive increase this week. We are expecting an increase to a silver high card of 74, with his normal bronze card costing 200 coins on both consoles.
Raffael (OVR 82 – SIF 85)
A 3-1 victory over Hamburg has brought Borussia Monchengladbach firmly back into the Champions League picture. Shadow striker Raffael is so often at the centre of things at Borussia Park, and he was again at the weekend, netting two goals and assisting Thorgan Hazard for the opener. Just goal difference separates sixth placed BMG from the top three.
The Brazilian should receive an increase of two this week, taking him to 85. The centre forward’s normal 83 rating can be yours for just 750 FUT coins on both consoles.
Alfred Finnbogason (OVR 76 – SIF 83)
Augsburg striker has netted 11 goals so far this season, and that tally received a mighty boost with a superb hat trick against Freiburg in the Bundesliga. The Iceland international netted goals in the first, 91st and 93rd in the incredible 3-3 draw.
A second TOTW appearance of the season could take Finnbogason to an 83 rating, and you are looking at a price of just 500 coins on both consoles to pick him up on Ultimate Team.
Neymar (OVR 92 – IF 94)
Believe it or not, Neymar is yet to receive a TOTW appearance this season. That looks likely to change with the world’s most expensive player scoring two and setting up two more in the 4-1 away win for Paris Saint-Germain over Stade Rennais. The victory takes PSG to a 55 goals in Ligue 1 this season after 18 matches, and they lead the division by nine points over champions Monaco.
The mercurial Neymar will be rewarded with a 94 rating this week, which would also increase his Ones To Watch card. His 92 card still comes at a premium, with 450,000 coins needed for his services on PS4 and 405,000 required on Xbox One.
