We’re into December and the fixtures are coming thick and fast. Some European leagues are getting the fixtures in before their winter break, whereas in the Premier League, the Christmas and New Year period is the busiest time of the season.
In England, Manchester United and Arsenal played out the game of the season so far, with an end-to-end 3-1 United win at The Emirates. More dropped points for Spurs in a 1-1 draw with the in form Watford, means that they look to be out of the title picture, with Manchester City winning for the 13th successive game.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia all failed to win in La Liga, meaning Atletico Madrid are back in the hunt just six points off leaders Barca. The most excitement came in Italy however, with Juventus ending Napol’s unbeaten run, Inter Milan smashing five and strugglers Benevento earning their first point in dramatic fashion against AC Milan.
In all of these fixtures there were some sensational individual performances, so who will earn a spot in FIFA 18’s Team of the Week? We predict the starting 11, which will become available at 6pm on Wednesday, December 7. The in form TOTW cards can be found in gold packs and purchased individually on the transfer market on Ultimate Team.
Alberto Brignoli (OVR 70 – HERO 80)
David de Gea may have made 14 saves in a sensational performance against Arsenal, but the goalkeeping spot this week goes to Alberto Brignoli. The Benevento stopper showed his ability in the opposing area producing a flying header to give his side their first ever Serie A point with a stoppage time equaliser against AC Milan.
We are expecting the goalie to receive a purple Hero card due to his sensational goal, with a boost of ten from 70 to 80 at an absolute minimum. The Italian Brignoli will currently cost you 2,000 coins on PS4 and 2,800 coins on Xbox One on Ultimate Team.
Victor Moses (OVR 79 – IF 81)
Victor Moses returned to the Chelsea starting lineup against Newcastle United after a month out with injury, and the converted wing-back showed the Stamford Bridge crowd what they have missed. The Nigerian first fired the ball into the box for Alvaro Morata to head home, and then in the second half won the penalty which Eden Hazard duly converted.
Former Wigan man Moses should improve by at least two to 81, with his current FUT price just 800 coins on PS4 and 700 on Xbox One.
Christian Kabasele (OVR 75 – IF 80)
Watford have been one of the surprise sides in the Premier League, with the Hornets in eighth place following their 1-1 draw with Tottenham. Christian Kabasele grabbed Watford’s goal, heading home Tom Cleverley’s corner, but he and his teammates will be disappointed not to take the three points with Spurs down to ten men for the majority of the second half.
Belgian centre back Kabasele’s effort should see him improve by five to 80 this week, and his normal 75 card will set you back around 650 Ultimate Team coins on both consoles.
Diego Rico (OVR 76 – IF 81)
Leganes left back Diego Rico grabbed the equalising goal against Villarreal, with his side going on to win the game 3-1 in the last 20 minutes. The Spaniard let fly from 25 yards out on the left flank to find the bottom corner to get Leganes up and running, with the three points taking Leganes up to a dizzy seventh in La Liga.
Rico should improve by five to 81 this week, with his normal 76 card costing you just 400 coins on PS4 and 500 on Xbox One in Ultimate Team.
Joia Nuno Da Costa (OVR 69 – IF 78)
When PSG travelled to Ligue 1 minnows Strasbourg, many predicted another healthy win for the French giants. Catching all by surprise, Le Racing picked up a 2-1 victory to hand the Parisians their first defeat of the season, with Joia Nuno Da Costa the star man for the home side. The Cape Verde international scored and grabbed an assist to lift his club out of the relegation zone and bring PSG within nine points of the rest of the pack at the top of the table.
Nuno da Costa should be set for a large increase this week, and we are predicting an in form rise of around nine for the striker. His normal 69 silver card will cost you around 1,000 coins on both consoles in Ultimate Team.
Philippe Coutinho (OVR 86 – IF 87)
After serious uncertainty of his future at the start of the season, Liverpool fans would have feared whether star man Philippe Coutinho would ever come back into the fold at Anfield. The Barcelona target has buried those worries, and he looks back in the groove after a goal and three assists in the 5-1 cruising victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Despite his performance, the Brazilian is likely to only improve by one to 87 this week, and you are looking at an Ultimate Team price of around 24,000 coins on both consoles to get his normal left wing card.
Benjamin Andre (OVR 77 – IF 83)
Stade Rennes picked up a 2-0 win over Amiens in Ligue 1, with defensive midfielder Benjamin Andre having a hand in both goals. The Frenchman first set up Wahbi Khazri and then grabbed the second himself, lifting Rennes up to sixth in the table.
The 27-year-old should receive an increase of six for his match-winning performance, taking him to an in form rating of 83. Andre will currently set you back 450 coins on PS4 and 600 on Xbox One in Ultimate Team.
Ivan Perisic (OVR 84 – IF 86)
Inter Milan left midfielder Ivan Perisic bagged himself a hat-trick in a 5-0 rout over Chievo Verona. The victory has taken Inter to top of the Serie A table, and with the club now 15 games unbeaten in the league.
The Croatian Perisic should receive a boost of two this week, taking his overall up to 86. For his normal 84 card you are looking at a price of just under 7,000 FUT coins on PS4 and 5,600 on Xbox One.
Jesse Lingard (OVR 78 – IF 83)
It was a smash and grab results for Manchester United at the weekend, and the Arsenal players will be scratching their heads as to how they lost 3-1 at The Emirates. The victory was down to not only the saves of David De Gea, but the work of Jesse Lingard at the other end of the pitch. The England international bagged two goals to keep the pressure on league leaders Manchester City ahead of the derby next weekend.
The right midfielder is likely to move to attacking midfield this week, and he should be set for a big increase from 78 to 83. His current Ultimate Team price is 1,100 coins on both consoles.
Sehrou Guirassy (OVR 69 – IF 77)
It’s been a tough season for German side Koln so far, but striker Sehrou Guirassy made sure they left Schalke with a point, scoring both goals in the 2-2 draw. The point means that The Billy Goats are eight points adrift at the bottom of the table, and they are still yet to win this season with 14 games played.
Frenchman Guirassy should receive a healthy increase this week, and we are predicting a rise from 69 to 78. His normal silver card will cost as much as 1,000 coins on PS4 and 2,000 on Xbox One.
Alfred Finnbogason (OVR 76 – IF 82)
Staying in Germany, Augsburg striker Alfred Finnbogason also grabbed a brace as his side defeated Mainz 3-1. It’s been a strong campaign for Augsburg so far, with Fuggerstadter up to seventh in the table, just four points off second place.
Iceland international Finnbogason is expected to receive an in form boost of six this week, giving him a rating of 82. His 76 card will set you back just 400 coins on PS4 and 500 on Xbox One.
