SIFU - the highly anticipated Kung-Fu title from SloClap - is on the way and after appearing at Gamescom 2021's Opening Night Live, we now know when. Here's the latest on when you can play this new game and everything else you might need to know...

RELEASE DATE - SIFU is kicking its way onto consoles next year

It's a sad day - but also an exciting one - as SloClap has confirmed SIFU is coming out in 2022. We expected this, but we won't pretend like we're not a little upset. SIFU looks insane - truly like nothing we've ever seen - and we just want to play it!

Thankfully, we know that it's specifically dropping on February 22nd, 2022 - the same day as Destiny 2's The Witch Queen Expansion - so there isn't too long to wait. Here's the latest snippet of gameplay from Opening Night Live...

Do you have what it takes to know Kung-Fu? What about SIFU?

When is Opening Night Live?

Opening Night Live starts today on August 25th. Although Xbox have already had their showcase, this is the official start of Gamescom and is when we should start seeing all the biggest announcements. Here's the time it starts:

  • 11:00 August 25th - PST
  • 14:00 August 25th - EST
  • 19:00 August 25th - BST

Geoff Keighley's tweet above is a pretty good way of knowing what time it will start, accompanied with some very helpful flags.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, we are expecting brand new announcements on tonnes of new games and updates on old ones. Outside of E3, this is one of the biggest gaming events of the year.

Make sure to pay attention and get in there early to see all it has to offer. If you can't, you can stay up to date with all the latest announcements right here.

What are we expecting to see?

Based on the tweet in question, we are hoping to see a release date, likely for sometime next year. That being said, an extended trailer or roadmap for the future of the game would still be pretty great.

There's still a lot we don't really know about the game just yet. We know it's a martial arts game that uses death as a central mechanic.

Outside of this, there's a lot of information fairly undefined like its release date or central story. Either way, hopefully, we get something good.
