2022 has been an exciting year for collaborations that's about to get even more interesting following the reveal of the upcoming Shelflife x Air Jordan 2 Lows.

It's the first time Jordan has partnered with the South African-based retailer, but may not be the last as Nike looks to showcase more local stories to a bigger, global audience.

For instance, the Shelflife sneakers will join the new TITAN x Jordan 2s as part of a wider cultural collection covering Detroit, South Africa, and Manila whilst taking design cues from some of the best Jordan 2 colourways around.

The Shelflife 2s, in particular, are inspired by graffiti and street art to tie the design into the company's origins in Cape Town before opening its second store in Johannesburg in 2016.

If these sound like the kind of sneakers for you, then we've got everything you need to know about the Shelflife x Jordan 2s right here...

Shelflife x Air Jordan 2 Low Release Date

Nike has revealed that the Shelflife 2s are out now as of 21 October 2022 and are available online and at Shelflife stores in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

We'd recommend acting fast though as, being the first South African collaboration, there's a chance the sneakers could sell out pretty quickly.

This all depends on stock though, so if you're a fan of the shoes, then we'd recommend you don't hesitate to pick up a pair.

If you're still undecided on the sneakers, then perhaps a closer look at the design might win you around...

Shelflife x Air Jordan 2 Low Design

As touched on, the sneakers are inspired by Shelflife's graffiti and street art origins; however, the brand has made sure to keep several of the classic Jordan 2 details intact.

For instance, the uppers combine old-school white with Light Bone textures around the laces and across the heels.

Safety Orange accents then provide a contrasting pop of colour and can be found dressing the insoles, outsoles, and Jordan as well as "TEAM ONLY" logos on the tongues.

They also arrive in a custom shoebox which Nike describes as your passport to travel to South Africa and discover the heart of ubuntu.

Shelflife x Air Jordan 2 Low Price

The sneakers cost $200 in adult sizing according to their SNKRS listing.

This means they're a touch more expensive than a regular pair of Jordan 2 Lows; however, this could be due to the shoes featuring unique materials and being the brand's first African-born collaboration.

So, if you're still interested in a pair, then here's where you can pick up the Shelflife 2s...

Where To Buy The Shelflife x Air Jordan 2 Low

As mentioned, you can find the Shelflife 2s listed on Nike's SNKRS launch page right now in adult sizing.

You can also find the shoes listed at StockX if you're looking for an alternative place to buy them.
