Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid: Five things to look forward to

On Sunday afternoon, Atletico Madrid visit The Bernabeu in the second meeting of the two teams this season.

The scheduling of this fixture, sandwiched between important European matches for both teams, and the outcome having little bearing upon anything of real consequence (neither team can realistically drop out of the top four or catch Barcelona), might take a little of the edge out of this fixture.

However, this is a Madrid derby and ever since Diego Simeone arrived back at Atletico Madrid these have been hotly contested matches. The ease of both sides midweek victories means they can exert themselves a little more than if they had to keep a more watchful eye on the second legs.

The last meeting between the two sides, the inaugural derby at the Wanda Metropolitano, was a forgettable 0-0 that did neither team a lot of good.
