With a staggering 47.4 million subscribers under its belt, PlayStation's PS Plus service has established itself as a must-have for owners of Sony's premier consoles.
In March of 2022, the revamp for PS Plus was announced, with a three-tiered system that allows players to choose from the standard PS Plus experience they're familiar with or two more premium tiers that will allow users to gain access to a series of titles from all of PlayStation's consoles.
Today, some of the line-up for the new games catalogue was announced. Here's what we know so far.
What PS Plus Tiers Give me Access to the Games Catalogues?
The new PS Plus is set to arrive in June and will bring three options and price points for players to choose from:
"PS Plus Essential": The standard PlayStation experience you've been using so far with no changes made.
"PS Plus Extra": All the benefits of the "Essential" tier and a catalogue of PS4/ PS5 games to play.
"PS Plus Premium": All the benefits of the previous two tiers, adds classic games to the games catalogue alongside game streaming and trials for new games.
PS Plus PS4/PS5 Games Catalogue
Introduced in the second tier, "PS Plus Extra" the catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games is likely going to be the main driving force for upgrading to one of the large tiers. Set to include titles from both first and third-party studios, Sony announced that over 400 games would be included, some of which have been announced today.

Backwards compatibility has been something fans of PlayStation have clamoured for in the years since the launch of the PS5 but until this announcement, the option has been limited to the unpopular service PS Now.
With the announcement of the PS Plus Premium tier, players can now get access to classic games straight through the one subscription with most titles being downloadable outside of the PS3 which is still limited to streaming. The announced list isn't the strongest but this is apparently only a small look at what is to come.

PS Plus Premium Game Trials
The final thing announced today from PlayStation's blog post was some of the games featured in the "PS Plus Premium" Tier's game trials benefit. This will allow subscribers access to brand new games for a limited period of time to let them decide whether or not they wish to buy the title.
