eFootball 2022 hasn't got off to the best of starts, but fear not, as Konami has announced that a first update is on the way!

So, find out when Version 0.9.1 will be released below.

Latest - Version 0.9.1 release date

The first eFootball 2022 update will hopefully fix the ongoing in-game issues reported by many fans.

We are expecting several more updates to follow in the coming weeks.

Konami has confirmed that Version 0.9.1 of eFootball 2022 will arrive on Thursday, 28 October 2021.

eFootball replaces PES

eFootball is an all-new football simulation platform from the makers of PES and Winning Eleven.

It will be Free-to-play and completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine.

eFootball will launch worldwide first on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and PC Steam this Autumn, with iOS and Android to follow soon after.

eFootball represents a fresh approach for the long-running franchise, previously known as Pro Evolution Soccer.

PLAN AHEAD - The eFootball roadmap is here

The latest news from Konami is that eFootball will be released on Thursday, 30 September.

Reveal Trailer

We have just got our first taste of the brand new game!

Check out the Official Reveal Trailer below.

It seems Konami are trying to improve the fundamentals of the game to try and create the greatest football head-to-head experience in gaming.

Early Access

Unlike the FIFA franchise, PES does not have an early access model where you can play the game early if you pick up one of the more lucrative editions.

So, we think it's likely that eFootball will follow this pattern.

Demo

PES 2021 did not feature a demo ahead of release.

PES 2020 did have a demo on the other hand, so there's hope we will get a taste of eFootball before it is released.

The demo was released incredibly early that year, on 30 July, so it remains to be seen when we will get an eFootball Demo, with it not being shown on the Roadmap.

Cover Stars

It looks like there's a clear front runner to be eFootball Cover Star.

LOCAL HERO - Takefusa Kubo would certainly be a hit in Konami's homeland of Japan

Takefusa Kubo has secured an agreement with Konami "similar to Alphonso Davies and Marcus Rashford" - who were cover stars last year.

Expect the cover stars to be revealed much closer to release - perhaps as late as August 2021.
