FC 24 is almost at its halfway mark for the year and in five months of the game being out, there has been an abundance of changes to the game.
With the footballing world being an everchanging circus, FC 24 has had many title updates to keep up with these things, and players have been added and removed from the game throughout the game cycle.
One such player who is in the headlines right now is French midfielder Paul Pogba, who has just been banned from football for four years after testing positive for doping, despite remaining an imposing figure in the football gaming sphere.
Why isn't Pogba in FC 24?
Paul Pogba was once the most expensive footballer on the planet, moving from Juventus to Manchester United for a whopping £89 million in 2016.
Since then, his career has stagnated, and some would say dropped off a cliff, after several injuries and unsuccessful years on the football pitch.
Pogba returned to Juventus in 2022, playing just 12 games for the Turin club since only to be struck with controversy this year following a doping scandal, so let's take a look at why he isn't in FC 24!
Pogba removed from FC 24
Juventus' number 10 received a -3 downgrade from FIFA 23 to FC 24, after a season where he almost didn't feature at all for the club.
Pogba was added to the FC 24 database and given an 82-rated card on 11 August, before being removed just a month later on 22 September.
That's because the Frenchman tested positive for testosterone in his doping tests, meaning he was provisionally suspended for using a performance-enhancing drug.
On 29 February, it was announced that Paul Pogba would receive a four-year ban from football after testing positive for doping, and a return to any EA FC game looks highly unlikely.
Doping is considered cheating in the world of sports, and so this is why EA has had no choice but to remove Pogba from FC 24.
In FIFA 23, Brentford's Ivan Toney found himself at the centre of his own scandal when he was banned from football for eight months after breaching FA betting rules.
EA also removed Toney from the database despite the Englishman being in a rich vein of form at the time, and having a Team of the Week and Rulebreakers card, which has its irony.
Toney, however, after his ban came to an end, returned to FC 24 in January. As for Pogba, we may never see him in a football video game ever again!
