Overwatch's long-awaited sequel, Overwatch 2 is finally going live!
This new-look Overwatch will include anything from brand-new heroes and maps to the integration of a Battle Pass System, major gameplay changes, and much more.

Players can log into the game right now and begin queueing for matches.

Overwatch 1 servers have officially gone offline
In preparation for Overwatch 2's release, Overwatch 1's servers have officially gone offline. As of Monday, October 3, 2022, players will no longer be able to access the original Overwatch title.
This means that we're less than a day away from Overwatch 2's release!
Overwatch 2 Release Time & Date
After three long years since its initial reveal at Blizzcon, multiple teases, extensive beta tests, and more, the next version of Blizzard Entertainment's take on an FPS will be in players' hands on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
Thanks to a forum post that found text in Overwatch 1 that laid out the approximate time, players can expect to be playing Overwatch 2 at approximately 3 pm EST. This will come after Overwatch's servers go offline on Monday, October 3 following Overwatch 1's shutdown on Sunday, October 2.
Here are release times for other regions:
- 12 pm PST, Tuesday, October 4
- 8 pm BST, Tuesday, October 4
- 9 pm CEST, Tuesday, October 4
- 4 am KST, Wednesday, October 5
- 5 am AEST, Wednesday, October 5

Overwatch 2 Preload & File Size Info
Prior to Overwatch 2's release, players can pre-load the game, however, it comes with restrictions.
In order to be able to pre-load Overwatch 2 players will need to have owned Overwatch 1 or have bought the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack. There will be two different pre-load times, one for PC users and one for console users.
On PC, players can pre-load the game starting on Friday, September 30 at 4:30 pm EST.

- 1:30 pm PST, Friday, September 30
- 9:30 pm BST, Friday, September 30
- 10:30 pm CEST, Friday, September 30
- 5:30 am KST, Saturday, October 1
- 6:30 am EST Saturday, October 1
On console, players can pre-load the game on the day of release on Tuesday, October 4 at 12 pm EST.
